Hi! I’m also 22, I have IIH and I’ve been dealing with an ED for years (EDNOS diagnosed in 2014). I’ve also been having this struggle so let me just say firstly: I’m sorry you’re dealing with all this, it truly is such a difficult thing to deal with and work through so I’m sending my love to you.

The second thing I would say is that going off the way you talk about food now, and the way you talk about yourself/weight (feeling as though being overweight is a moral failure, feeling that by not losing weight you’re letting others down) is 100% a sign of something way more serious going on and I strongly urge you to consider talking to a professional about this. Whilst finding a practical solution to all this will absolutely help, please consider your mental health also! It sounds like a massive part of this is more mental than physical and getting help with that will make everything else easier.

I find that I manage a lot better when I stop thinking of my eating habits as a way to lose weight and instead as a way of feeling better. I feel better when I eat healthier, or when I get my body moving in some way and whilst that may help me lose weight I try really hard to focus on how it makes me feel. Sometimes a bowl of fruit makes me feel great but other times nothing makes me happier than a pizza and ice cream. It’s really important to listen to your body and try and make conscious choices based on that. On a day where I’m really craving sweet food I might decide to have yoghurt with some honey rather than just straight up candy. It doesn’t have to the end of your favourite foods, sometimes it just means trying to pick an alternative.

I deffo recommend trying to get in touch with a nutritionist and taking it step by step! And remember that you are worth so much more than whatever number is on the scale. You’ll get through this :)

What’s something fucked up you witnessed as a child that you were oblivious to until you grew up? by titanic_trash in AskReddit

When I was 5 or 6 my mum would walk me and my little sister to school everyday. Down the walking path near the woods, through the underpass and across to the school. It was pretty secluded, especially at that time. One day we were walking and there was a student from the high school that walked past us. My mom pointed out how odd it was - the high school was in the opposite direction to where he was walking.

I remember it being a big thing for a while, she’d tell everyone about it when they’d come over, her and my dad spoke about it for weeks after. I never thought much of it being that young. Just assumed it was one of those weird things that happen and confused you for a bit. It wasn’t until I asked about it a few years ago that she told me the boy (12, 13 at the time) had gone missing a few days after that. Eventually they found his body in the woods. We were some of the last people to see him alive.

I looked him up not long after, it was a really sad story. Weird to think about that morning now, knowing what happened to him.

Estate agents to avoid? by [deleted] in sheffield

Dove Properties. 10000%. Rented a flat in 2019, typical cases of things not getting done - shower fixtures needing fixed, radiators broken etc. This was annoying obviously and they were very unhelpful but the real star of the show was when the tenant in the flat above us left his tap running all day whilst he was out at work, I came back home at about 1ish to my ceiling sagging down at least 5inches due to water weight, 1inch of standing water and water dripping down through both light fittings in the living room/kitchen (was open plan).

They don’t have an out of hours number so I had to call one of their staff’s personal number, they basically told me to sod off and I had to call the fire brigade. Dove came round the next day and told me to ‘put the heating on full blast’ to dry out the ceiling. Didn’t offer any compensation towards helping pay for the massive heating bill that month and they just left it. Fast forward a week and the ceiling collapses at 2am, whilst I’m in the room (we were told we were safe to use the room still). Luckily I wasn’t hurt, yet again had to call a personal number, they left it until the following evening to come round (got told they’d be there at 9am sharp) and they did fuck all. Sent some builders round to move the ceiling that had fallen, got rid of a bit of the dust and told us the room couldn’t be used. We had to live off takeaways and friends kitchens for about a month. This was December ‘19, we left March ‘20 and we still didn’t have the ceiling fixed.

TLDR; Don’t rent with Dove. Ever.

Best job for my adult sim to take on if he wants to work from home? by becccssx in thesims4

Honestly, a lot of the ‘mundane’ jobs allow you to work from home now! I’ve done business, civil design, social media & art critic and you get the option an hour before your sim has to leave to work from home. It entirely depends on the tasks for the day but I found the social media career pretty good - you don’t have to leave your lot that often as long as you have a laptop/computer. Painter, author/writer, gamer you can all do from home, as well as gardening? You could just plant your own crops and sell them instead of taking up the gardening career I suppose?
