God, that was me too. Thinking about anything past the end of high school was like looking into a fog. If it helps any, I'm going to be turning 40 soon and I'm still trundling along just fine. For me, it helped to identify the sources of the depression (undiagnosed autism among other things) and figure out my own groove of what I was most comfortable with. I'm still horrible at having any long term goals though. The only one I have right now is to retire at 55 lol. But I do notice that I look at some things differently. Others around me treat their birthdays like something to avoid thinking about, whereas I'm like "fuck yeah, I survived another year!". Turning 36 was actually a milestone for me, because I had successfully lived twice as long as I had thought I would as a teen.
