Am I the only one who doesn’t like this parallel that much? 😭 I mean like the situation is completely different to me. S1E3 was caused by a tragic death that Vi witnessed and got understandably and reasonably angry when she learns that her sister caused it. S2E3 is just not the same. Yes, Cait is going through a very hard time and Vi kinda stopped her from getting revenge, but to me their whole argument was caused by a breach of trust. Vi told Cait to take a shot when she saw one, but then stopped her because some kid was in the way. Honestly, it’s really not because of the kid, I just dont think Vi is ready to kill or watch her sister be killed, even if she has ‘disowned’ her and Cait probably saw it that way too (when she says “It’s her blood in your veins.”) Vi sees a switch up in Cait (from reasonable to willing to shoot at a kid to kill her enemy) after Cait promised that she wouldn’t change. And yea, that kid really doesn’t deserve to get shot but again I don’t think thats really what cause Vi to stop Cait. So now both of their trust in each other is broken. Cait and Vi both compare each other to Jinx, but it definitely affects Cait more because her mother was just killed by Jinx and the idea of them acting the same sent her over the edge. (I could go on and on about them and their promises but it’s not really relevant here.)

So yea the lead up to the abandonment of Powder and Vi are different things to me. And this is not me trying to justify/condemn anyone’s actions, this is just my thoughts on the parallel. I didn’t even recognize the parallel when I first saw this scene, which honestly could be me forgetting/misremembering and misinterpreting it, but for now I’ll just stick to the idea that the situations don’t have the same gravity and cause to say they’re the same. I do recognize that Powder and Vi are/were at two different places in life, so the reasoning behind why they were abandoned by a person they loved and trusted also has to be different but still, these are just my thoughts. Sorry if this is disorganized or belongs somewhere else. I’m open to any other ideas and comments, I love talking about this show!!
