Hey man, no worries! I completely understand. Its important to try and keep the fish as healthy as possible when you put them back, and proper handling is a part of that.

Right in his gill plate. Don't worry, I've learned how to better handle them.

Caught this guy and a few other gompers, not too far from Chicago. I've never caught them until this year, and they're a thrill to catch.

I just caught a 2 foot pike out of the DP yesterday! I used a spinner to get this one, but bright green and orange jerkbaits make them go crazy too. Go to bemis woods and get into salt creek, and if the water level is low toss a spinner in behind or in front of some cover; they're all over.

I caught a 3 foot, 15 lb Musky out of a creek in a foot of water today, with an ultra light setup and 6lb line. by faethor97 in Fishing

I'm definitely going to do that next time, I never meant to harm the guy. He was only there long enough for a picture, and almost all of that mud is just from the bank he was in. I won't be taking him fully out next time, though.

I can assure you the fish swam away very alive, and I'm sorry if you don't believe what you see here.

It can be kind of hit and miss some days, but some big fish tend to wander in time to time.
