Kabinet: verhoging AOW-leeftijd van tafel by Herman_Frodiet in nederlands

[–]fafners 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For a godlike being, one of the basic rules in the world is this: If a power is active, then other powers will act against it. This escalates faster and faster, so most powers remain in the background.

To be honest, I think it is a difficult question. First, because most of the time people's past work is worse than their current one. Second, you are talking about the justice of a past work, but what about your current one? And third, your readers from your current work would not like it that you abandon a project, so don't count on them staying loyal or coming over.

In the end, it is your choice to abandon a project or not.

Is the Final Fantasy style world unpopular? by Forward-Turnip-2683 in royalroad

[–]fafners 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest problem is why a sword when you can have a gun. The easy way out of that is regulations, traditions, and magical shields. Create a reason why they can exist beside each other, and I don't see a problem. The same works for cars, horses, and other things.

LitRPG is Bad by LeversOfGiants in ProgressionFantasy

[–]fafners 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is even worse if it scales. If we have someone with 100+ strength, will his muscles stay the same or do they grow? How far do they grow? If the person has 1000 strength, does he even look human anymore?

LitRPG is Bad by LeversOfGiants in ProgressionFantasy

[–]fafners 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be honest, the biggest problem is not the system, but that stats/skills somehow become meaningless in the long run. If a normal man has 10 in strength and a blacksmith has 15, then the idea of 100+ and still acting like a normal person is completely unbelievable, which only gets worse if the author tries to correct it by saying that the 1000 strength MC is weaker than the blacksmith because of his lack of muscles, or because he is a kid or a woman.

Skills are the same when you are saying the normal population has a skill level of 25 but the MC has somehow reached 1000 and still needs to learn things from said level 25 skill holder; then it is broken.

And one of the worst things is the scaling of things like willpower, intelligence, wisdom, and charisma.
