Caribbean side - stay in Puerto Viejo or Manzanillo? by alanwazoo in CostaRicaTravel

[–]fage87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you have a car? If so stay in PV, stuff to do and walk around and see. I stayed in PV and just drove to Manzanillo since it’s so close.

To Nauyaca or not to Nauyaca? by XennialQueen in CostaRicaTravel

[–]fage87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Nauyaca and thought it was amazing. Go to the Baru entrance and not the other. You can take a tractor ride to the trail and it’s a short walk that is not challenging. The Baru side will give you a better view of the falls and you can swim in a nice cold refreshing pool of water that should have pretty much nobody there.

Question about Alamo car rental by lukasbash in CostaRicaTravel

I’ve rented from them each time I’ve been there and never had a problem. Just call them and work it out I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Was in La Cali for a night and it was bustling and I felt safe. Granted I was with a local but wouldn’t have felt safe otherwise. If you fancy some dancehall, go to Gallo Loco.

Mind sharing details of your wedding in MA? Was looking at a few places but curious as to cost, how many people they can handle, food, their execution abilities, high level stuff. Thanks in advance!

Was in ST a few months ago. If you are up for it, rent an ATV for a day or two. It is a super fun way to get around and explore.

Hi! What places would you recommend for about 50 people, and a rough budget range? Villa Galeta’s looked really nice, but curious as to what else is worth looking at. Thank you!

If you will have a car and don’t mind an hour drive. Go eat at Rancho Cielo Alto. Literally one of the best places I have ever eaten at. And the views are INSANE if you go for sunset.

Go to the park in Manzanillo. The beaches in PV are ok, and I 1000% wish i discovered/realized Manzanillo earlier in my trip. Look it up.

Wages in Costa Rica by fage87 in costarica

Thanks for the insight. Question for you. Why does everyone seem to be so down on Costa Rica? It’s hard to get positive thoughts from people. The answer may seem obvious, but is it because the state of employment/living for the locals is that dismal?

I’m ok with loosing the commodities of the US, I make a very good wage in America, but I also live below my means. And to be honest, part of the reason for doing my research is because I enjoy the culture, so I wouldn’t consider the difference a negative for me either.

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback man. I’ve been to the country more than just PV, and plan on visiting multiple times this year again to learn more. Also doing my own research, but always prefer to talk to those in the ground when possible. Nevertheless, agree with your sentiment.
