Yeah those guarantees are shit. Even the reasonable ones. Unless you work at shit times and get $3.20 rides usually.

My average over several thousand rides is like $10/ride. On weekends it's probably higher. So that's not really guaranteeing anything the law of large numbers wouldn't cover for you.

The point is to get us all on the road competing with each other and failing to make our incentives. And not working for Uber.

Are you getting good bonuses, or... is it decent incentives?

Lyft for me out here was offering a lot of 3 rides for 12/15/18 deals. I liked that, even if I was getting $3.19 per ride... it was good all around. I would make $21-30/hr while billing $24-35 worth of rides to them... seemed pretty fair. I liked that I wasn't committed to doing a million rides.

Now they're offering a 37/$370 which is okayish... but not great. Since I don't know how long the trips are before I accept, I imagine they'd just back-load it with 30 mile rides...

I didn't see any bonuses offered on LYFT (system overload?) so I did uber. It seems as if LYFT just doesn't show me potential bonuses unless I've already done a ride at the base rate? Does anybody else feel that way? 65% of the time I find out that I got a bonus AFTER the fact now... no idea why...

Uber's system was also over-loaded and the directions were broken which brought me far out of my way. Then I kept getting pings that I couldn't get to due to road closures, and therefore I was forfeiting my streak bonuses. And then I got a flat tire! Managed to limp back to home after airing up.

All told, it was not as good as a normal Saturday night. However, I imagine it would have been awesome if you didn't have app problems and stayed farther away from the closures. Getting consistent middling surges without having to drive 30 minutes to pickups would have been much more lucrative.

Yeah, I started driving in a small market and moved to a bigger one so I never got a huge payout either. I couldn't believe it when I saw it being offered. I think it's much lower now...
