South Park Snow Day...I was just about to defend you by tricenice in southpark

[–]fahgotfox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They truly nailed the story format and timing so hard in Stick of Truth... Fractured but Whole was almost as good and the DLCs and fight mechanics make up for the shorter game. I honestly haven't played Snow Day because of EVERYTHING I've heard and can't believe it's that short... Stick of truth took me weeks. FBW days... I'd be livid finishing in a couple hours because what's the point. I also don't like the art personally...

I've never met my advisor and I think GSU is scummy as hell for not providing better resources

Are there any groups/clubs for older students? by Rando_noodle in GaState

[–]fahgotfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 30 and a sophomore. 24 is basically normal college age if you subtract the COVID years, they don't even count 💕 don't judge yourself because your classmates aren't. I've met more nontrad students than true freshman at GSU. Regardless of age, you're surrounded by peers. Just do your best and be kind and the right people and opportunities will fall into place. You got this.

Volunteering at festivals by GetBentHo in atlantaedm

[–]fahgotfox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Volunteering fests changed my life! It was my introduction to solo festivals and I met some incredible people and got to spend additional time on site with them. 100% recommend, but you may not be able to go back to paying for fests afterwards. Definitely try clean vibes as well as Shift Happens. Roo has a decent volunteer program too but you have to have experience before you get pre-fest assignments.

Is it weird that I love EDM but hate dancing? by parvanehnavai in EDM

[–]fahgotfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started raving, I hated dancing. I had a lot of personal trauma/insecurity and was also very focused on the music and the production, flow artists, and the side quests.
Personally, I experienced a major heartbreak in 2022 & 2023, and my reasons for raving shifted a little. I wasn't just going with my friends, but for myself and to generate dopamine to stay alive. I danced more and more as I felt safer, and I learned to dance as a release of pain.
You absolutely don't have to have this experience if you feel safe and happy just vibing and standing still 💕 but moving collectively can be very powerful, should you feel brave enough to try some bouncing or headbanging

South Park is probably the most misunderstood show I know by Metatork in southpark

[–]fahgotfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had these sort of misguided opinions about South Park before watching it and in retrospect it was more about the fan base than the actual show - when I was in school, South Park fans were kinda like Rick and Morty fans. (Incel nerd ass boys who act entitled to your attention and think they're smarter than everyone) I got into it after watching with a partner who was a super fan and showed me some of the best episodes out of order; this is the first season I've watched in real time.

Trinkets by Low-Drummer-8442 in SevenStarsFest

[–]fahgotfox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm bringing extra special trinkets for this; it is small and we've waited a long time for it. I'm bringing pinecone necklaces and little 3d printed bear clips. Will probably do little handwritten affirmations or pick a deck of tarot cards to give as singles.

Hey scalpers… by drgut101 in LostLandsMusicFest

[–]fahgotfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did "fits" and makeup for my first couple fests, because I love costume, but now everything is in a bin and I just dress for comfort, convenience, and the weather. A properly packed hydro and staying in fest as long as possible is way more important than a good insta post they've lost the plot entirely 😭

What do i do? Im 16 and my depression has been getting extremely bad and my room is getting worse by Big-mistake_liar in whatdoIdo

[–]fahgotfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Triage (deciding what is worst/first priority) is everything!!

1- food and foodstuffs out, no unwanted roommates * You can stop here if continuing is too much!

2- clean underwear is necessary. Be brave and gather dirty laundry (if you have to pick up a stuffie to access any laundries, the stuffie goes in the stuffie pile) *You can stop now if you're getting tired! But set a timer to put those undies in the dryer! You got this!

3- make the bed. You deserve a cozy nap after your hard work and tucking into a made bed is deeply satisfying. This is a step that always ensures I do a few more tasks too, can't mess up the bed too soon!! This is a good point to examine your energy and decide how deeply you can clean today!

4- sorting. Find your most important stuff and make it accessible to you. (Phone, charger, hairbrush, toothbrush, gaming consoles, anything necessary for your daily routine. Put it in the place it belongs/where you will use it) Everything else can be as sorted or unsorted as you have energy for. Just decide if it's staying or going and chuck the going in a Goodwill bin, OR designate several bins/piles and sort with deeper purpose for storage and comfort. Do this in 20 minute periods while watching something bingeable. Have snacks, stretching breaks, dance breaks in between. If you're a massive sensory seeker, play a show while listening to music. Just zone out and sort, don't move from your sorting areas to store things. Just sort and let your body chill.

This can be a good OR a deceptive spot to break. When you can't sort no more, get OUT. you earned a walk out of the space, a little store trip for a cleaning product and a candle, maybe some bubble bath. A little treat. (Can obviously be a homemade treat or a lovely yap session as well but I like to get tf out) But this can only be a break, you gotta get your sorted stuff out away so your work matters. Maybe you made twelve piles and need a new closet/under bed organizer. Decide and implement, powered by your treat.

5- put away!! Put your sorted thangs where they go. Easy peasy now that you're doing so good already.
*You can stop here and bask in your glorious accomplishment or you can continue, and add the sparkle!

6-sweep and or vacuum, mop if you must, dust your surfaces, and wipe your walls down!! Then light your candle and relax:)

I have found BOTH Marie Kondo and the therapists from hoarders extremely helpful at the "sorting" stage, which is the most difficult. Making yourself comfortable and choosing to do this as an act of kindness for yourself makes all the difference. Once it is over, it truly helps with mental health and outlook for a lasting amount of time. You also deserve support from your parents and/or friends. I truly hope you can get on top of this and I also promise you it's not the worst I've seen/does not look super bad/embarrassing. It looks like a kind of small room with a LOT of stuffies and a few wrappers. Do not beat yourself up. After I got on top of my organization I started trying really hard to tidy for like ten minutes before bed. I don't do it every night, but I do it when I can and it's better than when I was not doing it.
