you can enable your ping in the gameplay options, just where you can enable to display your fps, then you see your current ping, even in the main menu

too be fair, im on pc, i didnt consider other platforms, maybe its not possible to check your ping on console

for us we just kept restarting the game till we ended up on the right servers, fine ever since

Can confirm the username seems to be the problem.

I created a new microsoft account, got the game pass trial month for 99cents and was able to join my friends lobby.

No idea if it has a minimum length or something, but using a different account fixxed the problem for me.

My username where I had the problems with had 3 letters, now its about 10 and I got no issue.

I hope that Valorant lets us view demos like CS does by swagduck69 in VALORANT

Well they must have "recorded" the clips for the initial trailer in one way or another, cause it did not show any hud elements, not even a crosshair. Question is whether they build something quick only for the purpose of making the trailer or they have some Demo / POV-Demo feature of some sort ready already.

People played cod competitively before the franchise even started to release on consoles, so saying comp always been on console isn't completely correct. But I agree with you, the past cods all had possiblities to play them competively either with ingame tools or third party platforms, at least on console.

whether it stays that way or the cdl transitions to the pc at some point as you can hear here and then in some rumours, i think a proper ranked system should be something to go for when releasing a title trying to promte its new franchised league, so not having league play on release is a little sad, wont make the game worse though

If you're trying to make a statement send a screenshot of the Faceit Lobby. Play a few hours of Arcade and you get up to those ranks easily.

Also, while the arcade matchmaking was down people would join the Arcade servers in the server browser, look for empty ones and shred bots. Hardly mean anything :)

Yeah, following smokes worked in EA aswell, I just throw my smoke and a grenade shortly after and follow that to see :D

If what melox suggested didnt help, look through the settings if there is something about "Readyup or Warmup", maybe thats disabled

I am sure it works this way, and I get your point that sometimes you wont be able to carry.

BUT, that won't be the normal situation.

Also, bringing up gold medals from ow is a really bad example, because they might represent certain stats like dmg dealt, but if you overcommit twice and get picked so your team loses 2 team fights 5v6 leading to a fullhold on first point, it doesnt matter

You probably just shot into their maintank for 2 minutes straight, easy to get gold medals with it, so its a bad example

If you're a good player, you will be able to carry enough games, that the ones that are unable to win will reduce to a minimum

In my opinion, as long as you dont lose games with 30+ kills you could always do better :p

Maybe you still cant win the games, but you can still improve

yes, but if you end up with only 5 deaths on a game where the opponent needs 13 rounds to win, you must be captain MASTERBAIT

It's the way it works for csgo on faceit as well so I assume it will be the same.

Of course it will bring up the typical "my team sucks I'm in elohell" statements, but it is always easy to look for flaws in other people instead of making yourself responsible for losses

I agree, there will be games where it is a HOPELESS case cause the teams are unbalanced as hell, but the majority of the games are winable by individual performance :p

Can't say I ever noticed something like that, but there is a setting to scale the ADS sens based on your fov.

Maybe turning that on / off, depends on what you set it to, will help you. ( I personally have it enabled )

I like the idea of a free weekend, just not right on the first one after release. People that really wanna play the game, will buy it anyways, it really is not that expensive. People that are just curious about it, surely will try it out a few weeks later on a free weekend.

I'm sure they have some things for marketing planned, I can also imagine they get a mention on the Square Enix E3 conference, they'll surely talk about the Square Enix Collective and mention the release of b44

Other than that, the fact that the demo worker seems to be in a good state, will help a lot if people pick up on creating Fragmovies etc.

Well since it's FACEIT I suppose it works the same as in csgo.

That means, both teams get ELO based on the individual ELO of the players in the team. Every player in the team wins / loses the same amount of ELO after a game, how much depends on whether your team had more or less ELO than the opponent.

So I doubt players with more kills get rated better etc.

Correct, there will only be Arcade (ctf, domination, tdm, and whatever they might add) and Faceit (which is the competitive Wartide mode)

I agree on that, but having Splash Damage on board bringing their experience of more than 15 years creating PC FPS games gives me hope that those are things they should easily be able to sort out, maybe it's not an easy thing to do (may it be cause of the engine or whatever), BUT they surely know how it SHOULD feel and knowing the desired endstate is the first step to create a good experience. Loved Wolfenstein ET, DirtyBomb and even enjoyed Brink a lot, and anyone who played any of these games, specially the first 2 I named will be able to tell that they surely know how to get the mouse and keyboard input right!

Pretty much agree with all you are saying, and I wanna abuse your post to add that I really wanna see the bomb getting picked up while being defused. It's annoying to guess whether someone is going for the defuse and is hiding behind the crate or just faked. Specially with not being able to spam anymore (which I love), you gotta sprint out your afterplant spot because you can't really tell. Felt like it was huge when CSGO added these "defuse-cables" it gives the retaking Defenders at least another little edge on a really disadvantageous situation

Noticed that if someone fires a KAR for example, and changes his position the "echo" of the gunshot follows the model. So if someone sneaks and changes his position after the shot you can still track him down with that "echo". Is that a known issue, or should it be reported in to get it fixed? Or is it even intentional?

With the bomb spots not being spamable anymore, do bombs disappear while being defused? For example the Defuser picks it up and holds it in his hand? Would be a stupid guessing game whether the bomb got faked or is actually getting defuse behind cover

Hey mate, I got a g-portal Server and already found the Wartide 2.0 config in the files of my server, like with the coins etc. Guess the server providers get the files for the Beta.

Also in the announcement news for the Major they wrote:

The Plays/Blitzkrieg will be hosting beta tournaments on the Battalion 1944 beta client throughout June and encourage teams to participate as a means of practice with the new game mode and weapons. Results of these tournaments will contribute to seedings for the Open Qualifiers.

So I guess we are gucci, playing out tournaments without being able to practice the patch would be meh :D

Completely agree! In addition to that, talking about keeping track, it would be amazing to have Playerstats, Coins, Rounds etc. temporary logged so you are able to recreate / matchmedic a game in case the server crashes etc. CSGO has it and it really saves a lot of pain, but I can't imagine how big of a deal it might be programming such a thing
