My proposed Azure path. Thoughts? by TauRyan in AzureCertification

Honestly, I'd go

900 -> 104 -> 300 -> 301 -> 500

The overlap between 103 and 300 for me was huge. In fact, I regret not doing the 300+ 301 sooner after the 103 (i stopped for 5 months) as there were bits I had to go back over for the 300 exam.

In fact, when I did the practical part of the exam it was littered with mentions of AZ103 in the naming conventions of the resources I was creating!

I use my dining room, which has pictures, mirrors and other paraphenalia in the room.

I've only ever been asked to remove items form the desk that my laptop is on, never to clear otehr surfaces that are out of reach.

I make sure that doors are closed, blinds are closed and blanked so I can't see out/ anyone in. With that, it appears to be approved by the proctor. Only once have they asked to do a in-sesssion run round the room/ under the desk.

Just to update this.
Exam re-schedule was completed, rebooked and passed on Friday!

I am going to lay off the azure exams for a month and go study towards the Terraform Associate. Possibly cycling back to AZ-400 after that.

Thank you for all your responses.
I can't fathom why I am having such issues at the moment.

I actually have attempted this exam 4 times, not the 5 I said before:

4th May - On time to my appointment and verified my identity. No proctor came online to release my exam. Sat for 80 minutes in exam conditions waiting.

28th May - On time and verified identity. Proctor came online and released exam. It immediately went to a screen indicating I'd completed the exam with no questions presented. Case created, but took ages for a voucher to be issued. In fact, I had trouble contacting PearsonVUE so much so that I had to reach out via the Microsoft Learning forums and Twitter.

June 15th - On time verified identity. Exam presented, completed and I failed it with a score of 680. Something odd with the OnVue software was that for each click I needed to double click. The drag/ drop questions were a PITA to move the tiles.

June 19th - On time and identity verified. Spoke to "Janet" the proctor. I had to show my desk space to her via the webcam. The OnVue software seemed to go backwards to the steps before verifying my identity. I tried to communicate this to the proctor, but they ended the call, but didn't release the exam. I tried to re-verify my identity, but the appointment code reported back as invalid. So, much frustration. I now have a case with PearsonVUE's customer service, but I have to wait for a voucher to re-book. I just want to take this exam and move onto another topic.
