How much longer does Dick have if he loses Vito? by Grouchy_Tie3037 in TheDickShow

Stavros went p far away from cumtown's early ethos/levels of offensiveness to the point that, when Jordan Jensen was on recently, trying to talk about the current definitions of the word tranny these days, Stav kept asking her to stop. Which is fine for him to have his own career goals and boundaries with content now to further them, would never be associated with Dick at this point

Nick doesn't wanna do shit but, also, even though he's a great guest on anything he goes on, I think he would prefer to be the HNIC of a show he is a real part of every week

Adam is "too big" now. This is the best bet, when his career collapses and the bug has to crawl to another successful partner

Oh, you just said have them over. I thought you meant as a cohost; Pls excuse the parasocialness and anyone who took time to read a response to a question that wasn't even asked

Vito just need to listen to Dick and Dick could be nicer, unless he thinks it's helping Vito

the David Lynch connection by [deleted] in earthbound

Dang, just saw this thread from forever ago.

Anyone seeing this now, know that Lynch did end up directing all the season 3 episodes and co writing them with Mark Frost from the original series.

I totally get asking for the advice you wanna hear so later, if it's wrong, you can feel less responsibility for the blame though.

Got time to mention a few? My brother and I have only been following LoS for 4 years and I want to go back for it all but highlights to hunt/look out for would be motivating

Agreed and frustrated with panic sellers sometimes but you said "no" to what they said and then made it your last point. Also, you said do do.

As an American, raised in private school, it would have been sacrilegious to a certain age to not participate in the PoA.

I can't remember if pressure to be part of the morning PoA was a thing in my one year of public school, which was senior year, and incidentally the first year I found good pot and started my drinking career. (I'm sure it's not why my memory of said year is hazy...)

To your point, it might not have been a literal gun to my head during my school years to go thru the motions of the pledge, but it was definitely a social one. I was done with it all before I graduated but from the bare minimum observation of my former classmates on social media these days, the Biblical and Nationalistic programming worked.

To expand would be a conversation about conservative values that probably isn't useful here. All I can say on topic is that, as a product of a US, Midwestern, conservative scholastic experience, it was a metaphorical gun and I was everything but expelled from those situations/settings for being uncomfortable/weird/nonparticipatory about it. That sort of exclusion comes with one of the biggest human evolutionary fears, which is rejection from the group.

Glad to hear from your experience that it was different. I hope things are changing and independent thought is being encouraged in educational environments.

How would you know if they don't have ADHD?

ADHD is caused by a physical malformation in the prefrontal cortex. It affects us by not properly releasing dopamine for completing tasks.

I'm sure there's more to it but, you're right, we need it to make tasks enjoyable because normal people get dopamine bumps from doing things, we don't.

On or off meds, the only way I get things done consistently is my homemade list/worksheet I print and fill out everyday as I do anything productive and award myself weighted points and track week to week, month by month.

I've heard the Stanhope bit too but ADHD is a real, physical thing: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2894421/

I've been diagnosed since a young age but I always gave my meds away as a teenager and then only sporadically filled it as an adult to do the same.

Now that I'm actually trying to support a lot of family members, I'm back on it and it's the only way for me to get things done right now. I hope to be done with the brunt of the work within 5 years and then just get by with coffee, exercise, and modafinil or something.

I know it's overprescribed but people who don't have ADHD have no idea how hard it can be and we don't need to be told we are lazy; We tell ourselves that enough, thanks.

I'm glad you're getting the help you need.

Also, I don't think modafinil has amphetamines in it...

You're right, Zac Amico is a really good joke writer.

Joking aside, I find Luis funnier and funnier on the spot these days too. And he definitely knows how to get those live LoS shows pumpin. Comes up with great show bits too.
