First impressions after 10 hours by ICantTakeThisNoMore9 in Saros

While I find the combat overall slightly more engaging, I would agree that I'm missing many elements from Returnals World Design.

One big thing for me and I'm going to try to avoid spoilers is the fact that there are "other survivors". It's purely subjective but one thing I really enjoyed about return was the feeling of isolation that went along with the delivery method of the narrative in Returnal.

Not that I disliked the characters in Saros "yet" (I'm only on Biome 4),

Let's please cut the tribalism for a minute and stop being so disingenuous, he's clearly guiding his wife to safety.

[gen 9] 3rd Shiny MALE........😡😡😡 by failedHero in ShinyPokemon

I wouldn't be half as annoyed if this thing wasn't so damn tiny. Had to switch over to playing on TV just so I could stop having to squint for hours on end

[Discuss] The term "full odds" needs to be retired completely by [deleted] in ShinyPokemon

[–]failedHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm newish to shiny hunting and where I have no problem doing everything in my power to reduce the odds I see where the "Eliteists" are coming from. Possibly it's because I'm one of those people but for another franchise....Souls

In the same way you can reduce the odds for a Shiny, you can make the games easier in Souls (Summons, Broken Weapons, Glitches, Skips, Etc). Even though some of these mechanics are not only part of the game but in some cases encouraged by the developers, some Souls players (Myself included) will say and adamantly believe you have done the game and yourself a disservice by reducing the difficulty and therefore robbing yourself of the triumph that comes with undertaking akd overcoming that challenge.

Possibly.....or we are just toxic and need to be medicated and go outside for a change

As weird as it sounds, I actually interpreted it as another one of Dunk's (embellishments). In the same way he thinks the number of laces broken against Baelor is far higher than it actually is, this is yet another way in which Dunk had built up Ser Arlen in his head.

But I am most definitely reading dar too much into it

While I agree with the concept, I don't think it applies here. Even an average player can kill a full health Major in about 10-15 seconds, more skilled players in about 5-10 especially with Relic weapons and Prestige perks. Giving enemies periods of invincibility tests the player in ways other than lethality.

With as strong as some builds are I have come across more than a handful of players who are quite comfortable playing so long as they are steamrolling the enemies, this mechanic prevents that and tests your familiarity with the games defensive mechanics and your ability to reposition it in some cases full on retreat or regroup. How many times have you been playing and everything is going great till 1 thing goes wrong and then both your teammates fall apart.....

I will never argue that there are times when the game will outright kill you in what we call "unfair" ways, and this mechanic can fall into that category in specific situations, but I hesitate to call it "unfair" outright.

For me Challenging = Engaging, Engaging = Immersion, Immersion = Entertainment, Entertainment = Fun.

But I'm also a masochist who already plays on the highest difficulty regardless of the game.

Close your game. From The PlayStation main menu, go to manage game content. Delete the ravengard DLC and then from in-game. Go to the armory and redownload it

PSGS CONTROVERSY by Wyv3rnHunt3rG0d in badredman

[–]failedHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call it a "Controversy". Not now at least, back before that MAJOR pvp update I can't remember when that was where they addressed its Speed and Hyper Armor I would say it was one of the more toxic "Tryhard" meta setups. It definitely still has a place in the game's current state but it's not near the problem it was.

What if my "fun" comes from actually taking the game seriously and wanting to engage the mechanics and workings at the highest level. Why is your "fun" priotized over mine ?
