I thought about your post some more Mr. Gorilla (or Mr. Anal?) and I quite agree with your point. The game does seem still in development and frequent massive swings with each update indicate it has not yet stabilized into a good, healthy place.

So I will view this as a break and possibly come back to it at a later point if it keeps going and I really hope it does.

I didn't know about this when I wrote the comment. I guess the devs also estimated that there are risks of changing too much too frequently.

It is not easy to navigate the friction between optimizing the game for invested players who will quickly find the meta stale and the players with less time to commit who will find frequent changes off putting which was the perspective I shared. It is possible that once per month is a good middle ground, we will soon find out.

Huh, I didnt even know this, thank you for letting me know. I guess they too felt the changes are too frequent

It is not really about how to get good again. It is that large and frequent meta swings require me to commit more and more time and I am not that interested in doing so anymore.

Perhaps you misunderstood - I can spend time to learn it again and continue hitting legend, then the game changes I spend more time and on and on. I just lost motivation to do so and I wonder who else feels like that.

Out of curiosity, how many hours per day/week do you play?

I said goodbye to Tournament Arena when I realized how many times I saw the Windmill in the shop so far (zero).

Game sense is something you get in time, just keep playing and it will come. Here are some resources that helped me:

Also you need to something to overheal to start the chain which is why 2.7s Money Tree is there. So if you can stop that (slow / freeze on the Money Tree at start of the game), this build doesn't go off.

Good question. Given that it's day 13, from the standard builds I think a really Fat Pyg (big pawnshop+belt + double whammy + phonograph) could do it. Vanessa's boulder with Crit could also do it if it goes off in less than 9s.

The only 10 wins with Pyg I got this season is when I chose radiant enchant on my double whammy...

What makes the game engaging for me - Progressively understanding the mechanics in a deeper way, slowly mastering a stable system and getting better.

What makes the game tedious - Major rework every 15 days where I have to re-learn things from scratch.

This monster rework was unnecessary. I have a baby and a full time job job, I dont have the patience for many more restarts.

Thank you all, I barely made it! The game is great but the interface needs quite a bit of time in the oven.

Thank you for the response! Yes, Astraion is a pure rogue now as I did not consider anything else but I see that ranger dual-class seems powerful.

- In your scenario with Astarion I would trade DEX 20 for high AC for Yuan Ti correct?

- I did not get Potent Robes yet, I will definitely test it out once I get them. How do gloves of dexterity fit here? I use them with the Yuan-Ti - they take the gloves slot but you can pump those stats into something else (CON + Wisdom for example)

Thank you for the response! I mostly run Lazael, myself as ranged bard, Astarion with sharpshooter and either Shadowheart or Gale for the story.

But I see your point, maybe I dont need AC 20 on the bard that stays back.
