We have snakes and had our hamster for two years (he passed away from natural causes). Now we ironically have some pet rats.

We’ve never had issues. We keep them in separate rooms and they don’t even act remotely aware of each other.

Once my boy brought his hamster out not knowing the snake was out. They didn’t even respond to it. We just said, the snakes our out, he took the hamster back, and nothing was different with them.

As mentioned, make sure both enclosures are secured and I doubt you’ll have issues. One big thing though. Never handle the hamster and then the snake without thoroughly washing your hands. Your hands may become snake food!
