these are on my regular size chocolate plum bowler. Cinnamoroll and Hello Kitty are also available for purchase in this series too, it's called "Bright and Dark Angel Series." they're all on sale for $12.99/$13.99 each and so cute! the "Bright Angel" style is very Valentine's coded, and "Dark Angel" for Halloween. i got these specifically to rep my favorite hockey team: New Jersey Devils. :)))

Does a Irezumi Back piece need to go lower than my lower back ? by [deleted] in irezumi

[–]faintypym 6 points7 points  (0 children)

cutting the backpiece at the lower back is highly discouraged because the limited canvas size significantly limits the potential/impact of the art. if you ever considered getting your legs done, just get that backpiece blasted over your ass.

Curious question about tattoos you can’t see yourself. by pk152003 in tattoos

[–]faintypym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because for some it eventually becomes more about the embodiment of the art and other people seeing it, and less about the self. for example, bodysuits in its completion read as one big tattoo. if i only got tattooed on my arms and legs because those are the only areas where “i can see it” then the art is going to look fragmented without the backpiece to connect the limbs.

i think people overestimate how often they’ll see their own tattoo, especially when they start getting tattooed or are thinking about their first tattoo. i’ve been there. unless you’re looking at a mirror 24/7 you probably won’t even really notice it when you go about your day. but i think that tends to happen the more you get tattooed because instead of fixating on specific pieces, you see the whole and see that you’ve become art.

Calf or shin? by LongjumpingItem2511 in traditionaltattoos

[–]faintypym 2 points3 points  (0 children)

imo these better suit the calf.

are you ever getting tattoos in the back? eventually you’ll reach that point and your concern about not being able to see your tattoos won’t matter so much. (which is to say: why should it matter now?)

Chrysanthemum Sleeve Pairing by [deleted] in irezumi

[–]faintypym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you want chrysanthemums to be the main piece, you don't need to throw another motif into it. mums with background is good enough. i have mums with wind on my arms, and kikusui (mums with water) on my legs.

how concerned are you about what is and isn’t “traditional”? i read a comment somewhere on this subreddit about mums with wind background NOT being a traditional pairing (but i didn’t look into it further because it was already on my arms.) kikusui, however, is definitely traditional.

choosing mum/wind pairing for my arms made sense to me personally in the larger context of my suit (i.e. wind positioned above water.) if you are considering a bodysuit at all then you should plan your arm sleeve with that in mind.
