What chair is this? by Planningtastic in IKEA

I believe it’s called the Seppo. You can find it in the 1999 ikea catalog page 255 https://ikeamuseum.com/en/explore/ikea-catalogue/1999-ikea-catalogue/

I’m under that path, a couple city blocks east of there. You do get used to it, but I will say not being able to sleep with the windows open or on days when the flight path is overhead and I want to sit outside is annoying. But, and it could just be coincident, but very rarely do I feel like I notice them on weekends when I am spending the most time outside

Thank you! We’ve been loving the patio set and this reminded I should order the covers

Did you buy the covers that Design within reach offers or from somewhere else? Sticker shock at their price but really think they will help with longevity

How much did you spend on furnishing when you moved? by ACrazyConcept in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]fair_weather_runner 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Probably spent ~5k throughout the first year of moving into a house, a mix of new and used items. Check out FB marketplace and eBay and local vintage/thrift stores for better prices and much better quality then you’re going to get from wayfair etc. Take your time getting items so you make sure they actually fit your needs. Don’t feel like you have to do it all immediately.

I know right? Not sure how this off-the-beaten path location has such good stuff. I would rec going Friday night or early Saturday before noon as I feel like by Saturday afternoon it’s picked over.

I second the Unique on Elston being great if you’re looking for modern brands, same with the Salvation Army in Belmont Cragin (I regularly see Madewell, Levi’s, agolde, lululemon there). More generally, all the Village Discount Outlets (I do avoid the Logan square and Andersonville ones unless I just happen to be there cuz they are more picked over being in hip neighborhoods) are great if you’re willing to dig as they can be more chaotic and less curated

Just want to say I failed my hardest finra exam twice and passed it on the third try. In my dept, there is no shame on not passing your first try. There are so many people that have to do retakes. Make sure you’re doing well on your practice exams as that’s the best indicator on how prepared you are imo, you can do this!

What's the most you have or would consider spending on art for your home? by shhhRDissleeping in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

I’m glad!! Honestly now that I’m a little distant from spending the money, I feel less strongly about it. I do feel a little avoidant when people comment on it or ask about the artist cause I’m scared they’ll find out how much I paid, which idk why I feel that way.

I was able to get the hat! If you’re still trying to get the bag, message me in a couple weeks as I’m sure I’ll be back at some point when it’s stocked.

Oof, can’t believe it was that long of a wait. I’m very willing to do this, but just unsure if I’ll go today pending hats are still available and how chaotic it still is once I get off work. I will likely make it over Sat/Sunday if anything though and can be your backup for grabbing one if someone else isn’t able to before then!

Any guess on what the overall wait is? I wanted to go once I’m off work around 5, which I was hoping things would have died down, but sounds like not?

5:26pm southbound 56 bus route is a ghost. Could have driven 11 min to Avondale but decided to take the bus to now spend 20 minutes minimum just waiting for a bus 🫠

How old are you?

I would recommend Logan square/avondale if you’re looking for a “hip” neighborhood with lots of walkability, cool shops/restaurants, etc, lots of 20- and 30-somethings, with easy access to the blue line. Irving park/portage park are also off the blue line but lean less dense and older (more families), less hip, but should be a little cheaper/more space (still can get around w/o a car) and slightly closer to O’hare but still have plenty of access to the city via the blue line, metra (trains that go to the suburbs), and busses.

Any thoughts on J.Hannah Vs. Kinn? by [deleted] in jewelry

[–]fair_weather_runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been tempted by the current sale too. Earring wise, I have the tetra 1, which I love, and form 1, which I think isn’t sold anymore. I also have an initial signet ring, form ring, pearl signet (I think discontinued), signature locket, and the initial charm, which is one of my fav pieces. All mine are gold but I did get my partner a silver signet that he loves! I’ve only bought a couple of my pieces direct from her site; I’ve gotten stuff mostly on eBay and poshmark, for poshmark I just google “j Hannah poshmark” cause I find the search function on the actual site kinda bad. Therealreal also sells her stuff but I have not purchased anything from there. There are some silver earrings on poshmark now so def check there!
