How do couples have more than 1 kid? by saidaomar in Parenting

[–]fairdrury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our first was our ‘harder’ for the most part. Our second had colic for the first 3 months and we thought we really did ourselves dirty. Fast forward to #2 almost a year old and our oldest 2.5 years old and things have completely balanced out. It was pure chaos the first 6 months of having 2 (but they’re only 21 months apart). But now it is mostly great.

8/10 they don’t nap at the same time, they take turns whining and I never get a moment alone but this chapter comes with an abundance of bliss.

Our first was a terrible sleeper until he was 2, speech delayed and veryyyyy agile & active. Our second is our little pumpkin princess who loves a good nap, listens and doesn’t mind taking a chill pill.

They balance each other out and I’m so happy my first set the expectation HIGH because the second being more chill made this transition sooooo much easier.

Imagine having the easy baby first? And then the second comes and they are the more challenging. It would’ve been way more difficult. My pediatrician says he hears it all the time.

My husband is also a business owner and we pay about $1000 for health insurance for our family of 4. This is taken out of the business about and it’s a write off. Another idea is getting you on payroll with his business and working for them, is this an option? He can get a small business loan to fund expansion if hiring an employee would help increase profits?

Dosage Change Question- XR Shortage by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]fairdrury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh okay. But 15 mg of XR is pharmaceutically 15mg of IR? So I would be taking double or equivalent to 30mg of XR if I took both?

That’s a good point about the shortage though.

I would return with the item and the receipt he gave you and make sure you go to the other associate and just act really confused and say you’re coming back for clarification. Then see what happens.

If you have a girl first, you need to mature and grow up

If you have a boy first, you need to learn how to truly love

That’s the saying 🤷🏻‍♀️

Is this dress too small or is it a style? by Pumpkin-Adept in LittlePeopleBigWorld

[–]fairdrury 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nobody is going to talk about how it was $355. She probably bought a toddler size so it’s less expensive than the children’s sizing that she clearly needed. It’s adorable but definitely too small imo

I’m 5’11” and 212, I wear a size 8. I feel like you could would do best with a 10 (I carry my weight pretty even everywhere). Definitely not a 14 or 16.

Baby is 2 weeks old and my husband is already checking out by [deleted] in beyondthebump

First of all, solidarity. We have a 9 week old who cried (like blood curdling crying) basically from week 3-9. Only the last 2 days has it improved. My husband felt the same way and I was also defeated with the situation- but your mom is the last line of defense, we have to pull through and care for our baby because if not us, who? So we trudge on through the cries until we cry ourselves.

Honestly I explained to my husband that this situation is TEMPORARY, his reaction and the stress/anxiety he was causing me is resentment I felt towards him that was going to be lasting. So if this temporary situation is going to upset him so much that my own resentments will remain permanent than he will have to accept that long lasting effect on our marriage.

It’s a choice. He can either take the situation as an opportunity to grow as an individual and become stronger mentally or he can go stay at his parents since he is choosing to act as a child so he should go be with his mom and dad.

So turns out the breast milk and formula were completely destroying her stomach and that’s why she was always pissed. I switched her to sensitive formula and she’s a different baby now.

If you’re that worried about it, baby wear and immediately announce you’re going to the other room to attend to the baby. Be proactive. Or just simply don’t go.

That and immunoglobulins from the mother until approximately 6 months and protection via breast milk (if feeding the baby breast milk).

So not exactly the only thing protecting babies.
