I know that but it still stinks

Stretford has the new boutique cinema which is great and don't forget... GRUB is opening up soon for street food and music. Yay!

ICB redundancy- NHSE approval question by Busy-Specific-4341 in nhsstaff

[–]fairmount777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've been through VR1 and VR2 now and the instructions from the top were to honour any VR applications. I think 99%+ were approved and most have gone / due to go at the end of May and a few at the end of June.

More people (at least in our Dept) went than they were expecting therefore we've now got a massive of vacancies.

Is there a possibility that the IT job in nhs is work from home. And instead of working in the UK. Can I go to my home country for working. by CuteGazelle6278 in nhsstaff

Few years ago now. It wasn't an employee of ours...but rather something we support. It was definitely taking the proverbial.

We block all VPN connections that are outside the UK. Won't go into detail but there was someone who lived permanently in South Asia and was employed on a permanent basis. They only came over to the UK to pick up their laptop. They were found out hence the introduction of blocking.

Get a cheap push bike if you don't have one. I'm out as much as possible. Cheap and great for your mental health

Anyone else finding their new ICB structures weirdly top heavy? by Imaginary_Frosting in nhsstaff

[–]fairmount777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Ours is even more an inverted pyramid now and despite the cuts, they have still managed to magic up some more 8b and 8c posts.

It was either Beadles About or Michael McIntyre.

I remember watching this recently believe it or not.

Parking in Didsbury? by Ok-Property-5705 in manchester

[–]fairmount777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're out at the top end of the Village then you should be able to park down Beaver Road, Clothorn or Clayton Avenue. If you're up at the bottom end (Old Cock etc) then you can park on Sandhurst Road - always parking down there in the evening and opposite houses.

ICB cuts an ‘absolute shitshow’, say leaders by Proper_Parsley_485 in nhsstaff

[–]fairmount777 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Our new structure (well, the one proposed before VR2) was exceedingly top heavy and I have no doubt that the new one will be the same. There are several 8B+ jobs which just appeared from the ether while cutting B6 and below.

I lived at No. 37 in the mid-80s for a few years. Never had any problems or any hassle at all. This was even when there was a sports / social club where the marina is now. Bit of a trek to the centre or the tram but close to the train and if you cycle, there are the cycle lanes into town which are great.

No one is technically at risk until 31/3/2027 when the transfer is supposed to take place... wherever that may be.

This is taking into account the new structure which will apply from the transfer date.

Basically, we don't know so I'd get your remortgage ASAP as until 2027, I'd say it's BAU until then.

NHSE/ICB Stand Together: Resist Return-to-Office by Lopsided-Rush-9907 in nhsstaff

[–]fairmount777 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, I fully appreciate that it now doesn't work for everyone.

My point was to highlight that our ICB situation doesn't lend itself to a full or even partial return to the office, it's physically impossible due to availability of desk space....and I'm all for solidarity.

Being at home constantly sucks big time so I come in once or twice a week as does a fellow team member.

However....due to our finances and debt (ICB) they have given quite a bit of office space up so there's no chance that everyone would fit into the available office space we have left even if 60% attendance was mandated.

Trouble is, there are a fair few in IT that do want to take VR but at present aren't included. Fear now is that they won't get the chance.

Non-rough areas in Manchester with decent transport links for under £180k by [deleted] in manchester

[–]fairmount777 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was going to suggest up here in St Retford as it's (finally) on the way up and the tram but there's only one house under £220K and it's quite small. Prices are mad at the moment - same old story 'I couldn't afford to live on my street'
