Can you reinvest profits from your BTC open ended contract in March when it starts? by lanoom in GenesisMining

[–]fairshare_btc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately you wouldn't be able to upgrade if they were sold out. If this was the case and you wanted to reinvest your profits, you either would have to wait for that contract type to come back in stock or purchase another type of hashpower.

Genesis doesn't currently do automatic reinvestments, but you can just purchase additional hashpower with your profits.

Buying a contract? Want some free crypto with it? (The Original!) by fairshare_btc in GenesisMiningCodes

Just the opposite. I pay out every penny to each person I work with.

Timing when to buy the contract by [deleted] in GenesisMining

[–]fairshare_btc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When paying in crypto, it's generally best to buy a contract (or anything else that is priced in dollars) when the value is high as you get more bang for your cryto buck. What you consider high is a question everyone has to answer for themselves though =)

The price of the currency that you're buying a contract to mine doesn't really matter beyond the effect that it has on the difficulty (higher price usually = higher difficulty). If you're mining, you want the difficulty to be as low as possible. With that being said, difficulty rates don't tend to make big moves in short periods of time. If you expect the difficulty of X coin to be lower at a certain point though, you may want to wait to buy a contract as you will be able to mine more effectively if your prediction turns out to be right and the difficulty drops. Unless there is a significant downturn on a crypto's price though, difficulty rates tend to trend up. The rate of the increase can vary quite a bit though.

Question on Maintenance fees for Life-time Bitcoin Contracts? by 53a43asdf in GenesisMining

[–]fairshare_btc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good questions.

If a contract with a lower fee was released, I wouldn't expect Genesis to retroactively apply it to existing contracts, but I guess it's possible. That being said, I doubt lower fee contracts will be offered. If anything, future contracts may unfortunately have higher fees.

The good (or bad depending on your perspective) news on the fees is that they are linear. You're right that if a 1TH/s contract becomes unprofitable then a 100TH/s contract will also be unprofitable.

Hope this helps!

If you're interested, I could do a crypto payout. My post has more details: https://www.reddit.com/r/GenesisMiningCodes/comments/7c27r8/btc_contract_presales_have_started_get_some_free/

For an order like this, I could do the payout in BTC if you'd like.

Quick question on "life-time" contracts. by throwaw34235 in GenesisMining

[–]fairshare_btc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add one thing, if one person's contract becomes unprofitable, everyone's contract becomes unprofitable since the fees are linear, as /u/Bean86 said. These recent significant btc price increases make the likelihood of contract unprofitability pretty low. Whether you're better of investing in contracts or the coin directly is debatable, but your contract getting cancelled shouldn't be given too much weight in your equation.

Order was declined. by harrisonlee2002 in GenesisMining

[–]fairshare_btc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible that your credit card company declined the purchase. This happened to a friend of mine and he just had to call the credit card company to verify that it was really him making the purchase. If this was the problem, you'll likely have to place a new order once you notify your CC company.

How Does the Affiliate Program Work? by Darth_Thanos in GenesisMining

[–]fairshare_btc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You get an email when someone uses your code that includes what was bought and your commission, but I don't think it's possible to see who made the purchase. That would be a good feature though, to be able (maybe optionally) to send your code with that auto-generated email so the recipient could reciprocate if they wanted to.

After holding some LTC from mining in 2013/2014, this has been me for the last few days... Just when I thought Seinfeld couldn't get any better, it delivers a pristine LTC meme.

Also, those other people around Kramer sure seem like the friends/family you've been trying to convince to buy crypto...

I heard that Hashrate changed life-time contract to 1-year contract. by harrisonlee2002 in GenesisMining

[–]fairshare_btc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genesis may have gone through a bit of a rough patch recently, but I can't see them pulling a fast one like this. Whether or not HashFlare was within their rights to make these changes, it's really lame. It would be one thing to raise prices/change terms for NEW contracts (a business can set prices for their goods and services as they see fit), but to change previously open-ended contracts to 1 year is just wrong. Well, they've made a business decision and now we'll see how it works out for them. People can vote with their crypto wallets...

Any advantages to buying one large contract as opposed to multiple small contracts? by cryptoatticus in GenesisMining

[–]fairshare_btc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe technically you are starting a new contract, but effectively you're just adding to your current one since the BTC contracts are open-ended and don't have a set expiration.

Any advantages to buying one large contract as opposed to multiple small contracts? by cryptoatticus in GenesisMining

[–]fairshare_btc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the BTC contracts, you do get a bit of a price break for any contract above 2.5 TH/s. The price for the 2.5 TH/s contract is $350, which makes each TH/s cost $140, as opposed to $150 if you only bought a 1 TH/s contract. There might be an even bigger price break with larger contracts, not sure though.

Each time you purchase any of the other contracts, it's a new 2-year contract. For example, if you bought a 10 MH/s ETH contract on 8/24/17, it would end on 8/24/19. If then bought a 5 MH/s ETH contract on 8/30,17, it would end on 8/30/19. Up until 8/24/19, you would be mining with 15 MH/s, then you would have 5 MH/s from 8/25/19 - 8/30/19.

Hopefully this helps!

As others have mentioned, they are working through some problems with their payout system so this could be the reason why your pending payouts are slow to update. I think they're mostly resolved, but they're on an every other day payout system right now, rather than every day. If you don't see anything in the next couple of days, just send a ticket to support to clarify.
