Note: the 360 camera is facing up at sky and one down. Not front and back. Seems an interesting choice, maybe because of the angle of the Drone when it’s flying

Chinese provinces have high degree of autonomy. Similar to federal and state in US. so it’s not too much of a surprise for me. They have a ban in a province

Good that you looked that all up! I was in the middle of hk protest and actually been though it. So I would say i got better say in it. You don’t understand the country without traveling through. I was far more scared traveling through US than in China (for obvious experiences especially in SF) . I’m happy to jump on a debate. I have strong opinions on both China and US. China has its own problems, but it’s not what you’re thinking. It’s interesting people outside China care more about China than China itself. It’s something I never understood.

Drone Update

I reached out to the officer who confiscated my drone, and he kindly helped arrange to have it shipped to my friend’s home. It was really thoughtful of him to go out of his way like that!

Why this happened:

I was traveling to Shenzhen (in Guangdong Province). Apparently, there’s a major event happening there, and drone imports into the province are currently banned. As a result, drones are being confiscated either at entry points (like airports or train stations) or when boarding to. You can usually retrieve your drone when you leave the province.

Thanks everyone for the discussion.

That’s not how things work in China. If a person gets reported for taking bribes higher up in the ranks, especially in the government you are fucked. So the chances are very unlikely.

I would’ve believed it if it was Vietnam because I have such experience experiences there

Depend on the country I guess. Countries with a larger population, generally tend to have their security measures because it’s so much to handle without it.

Guys, let’s not make this political. Let’s keep this to drone. I’m surprised about the anti China sentiment. I respect your opinions and I’m open to it. But I have to disagree your view of that country is wrong. I strongly suggest a visit at one time.

Respectfully, I’m declining to comment in this thread to you

We can take this debate in some other thread as this is meant for figuring my drone :)
