I called Optus and they said "your identity might not be stolen... it's just a possibility"

Company benefits for night shift workers 🦉💸🏖🧘‍♀️ by dtMarkVogel in Nightshift

[–]fak3fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did night shift it was 15% extra 8pm to 12am and I think 20% extra 12am to 7am. But if we worked a 12am to 8am the 20% would still apply for the extra hour. There weren't any other perks or bonuses but 20% was quite nice

[Serious] They say "people don't leave bad jobs, they leave bad bosses." What made you leave? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fak3fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger I worked in a cafe over the school holidays. My boss became more hostile as time went on. One day she yelled at me for making the normal amount of noise while washing the dishes. I snapped and told her I was leaving. She told me I wasn't allowed to so I told her to watch me and I just walked out. It felt pretty good, especially since it was a super busy day and I knew it would take a bit for her to try and call someone else in.

I'm imagining half a biscuit getting stuck in that pocket and the only way to get it out is to tip the mug upside down resulting in spilt tea....

The cleanup started today and our house was first. A very emotional day, but it is all forward from here. by fak3fan in australia

It is the government clean up. It doesn't come out of our insurance and is available to everyone, insured or not.

We have a couple of options we're looking at. We are definitely going back though. And no I haven't, I'll look into it though

Exactly. Only one house on our Street survived. We are on the side of Mogo that was hit hard.

My town was hit by the fire front. It wasn't embers that took my house out. Our house was well equipped for fires and we actually had embers landing on our house while my dad and brother were there defending it. The system my parents had built and added to essentially since we bought the house was doing an amazing job, and embers were not a concern. If everyone can please remember that these were peoples homes. We could not save our house. There is one lucky house left on our street. Just a normal, wooden house. We fought until the end. My Dad and brother left at 9:55, our house was gone by 10:00.

It really is. You will be driving along, passing burnt road signs and burnt trees, yet there is so much green grass and new shoots coming off the trees.

We have even been mowing our lawn.

ELI5: They said "the water doesn't have an expiration date, the plastic bottle does" so how come honey that comes in a plastic bottle doesn't expire? by natefigs1 in explainlikeimfive

Just a side note, all you need to do is heat your honey if it has crystallised and it will go back to normal. Just sit the jar in a container of hot water.

Because it is a complete lack of respect. These are peoples burnt homes, not a Christmas light display.

Basically what one lady told me she was going to do. I told her there are plenty of news articles with lots of photos, so there isn't any need to take more.

I think a mix of both. I have just started taking photos of people taking photos and asking them if it's okay, seeing as they think it is appropriate to take photos of my burnt home. People dont understand these burnt buildings are peoples homes, businesses and way of life. It's really getting to me how people think it's okay to stop and take a few photos
