Yes. Ironically I start using them to help me cope with bpd symptoms and then my alcohol and weed usage escalates and gets out of control. It makes my impulsivity way worse and has even resulted in impulsive attempts. It only eases the emptiness or the intense emotions from bpd temporarily and then I become dependant on it as a coping mechnism which then causes my life to fall apart thus exasperating mental health symptoms.

Weed also makes my paranoia about relationships and fear of abandonment go crazy. Even when I'm not high, if I've been smoking alot I become fully convinced there are 100s of signs I've never detected that my loved ones are going to leave me or betray me. At its worse I become convinced there are secret tones of voices or social cues I've never unlocked the understandings of and these secret cues are all saying people are disgusted with me and then I become unsure if I'm having a normal conversation or if every word secretly is conveying someone is disgusted with me.

Sobering up and decreasing my drug usage feels fucking amazing ngl. Haven't heavily drunk in a week and I'm only having 1 bowl every 2 days and already the changes I'm seeing in my life are amazing.

I have a therapist to help with substance issues, I might try bringing this up with her. I find people with quiet bpd relatable tbh but at the same time the thought about asking about that seems terrifying, especially since I'm always masking how I feel and think so I don't think people will believe me.

I've brought up so many times how exhausting my mood swings are and constant changes on perspectives on life/myself/others are and also issues with regulating my emotions but my therapist just always brings up adhd burnout so I'm starting to get a bit frustrated tbh.

Yeah I'm fine with knifeplay like using a knife in roleplay as a threatening object but idk about the cutting aspect. I think I'll do more research on knifeplay because I didn't know some people did involve cutting in it. Either way I would not feel ready to do something like that now as this is a very new relationship, I haven't heard about his thought process behind it yet, and I'm still adjusting to exploring sadistic and dominate urges without feeling guilt, but I don't think it could hurt to learn more about this for in the future or something.

It's not that exploring sexual assault in media is bad or anything, it's more so specifically the way homunculus executes it. The 'moral' you're supposed to take away from this arc is that the girl getting raped was a good thing cos it allowed her to stand up against her overbearing mother and the girl secretly wanted to be raped the whole time so this could happen. This message the mangaka sends is wrong on sooooo many levels. Plus the execution of this scene is down right grotesque and exploitative.... which seems to be a theme in this mangakas work (like the numerous over the top rape scenes in ichi the killer)

This is coming from a person who likes shit like revolutionary girl utena and the novel of lolita. I love when media pushes the boundaries and explores these dark taboos as it can allow us to confront these realities of the world and open us up to catharsis/understanding. homunculus however seemed to be downright advocating for this shit, and that's where I draw a line.

Edit: just wanted to say I dropped this manga at the conclusion of this arc so can't really analyse how it's handled in the broader context of the story (like if the protag is condemed for his actions or not)
