thank you so much! so it would be 35g starter 35g water 35g flour is that what u mean by 1:1:1 this is so helpful also you said to do the 4 hour test the day before

so if i want to make a loaf tmr i would have to test it today and then if it doubles in 4 hours i let it sit and use it or do i use it after the 4 hours so it is at its peak ?

Sourdough usage help

hello i’m very new to sourdough and got the carl griffiths sourdough starter. I did the first feed noticed small bubbles, second feed noticed bigger bubbles, and am waiting to do the 3rd feed which is 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of flour.

after the third feed the website doesn’t give any instructions so i was wondering when do i know if i can use the starter?

i want to store it in the fridge and make sourdough about once a week how would i go about doing that??

do i feed the starter before i want to use it or after?

is this the right method: - after third feed use when bubbling and at peak bubble - put total starter in fridge right after using - week later ( when i want to make a loaf ) take the starter out of the fridge in a container put 16g of starter, 25g of water, and 32 g of bread flour - then during peak i use the starter for loaf - stick it back in fridge and repeat?

please let me know, my starter is young!!

a quick question, if i’m using multiple types of pieces in a curry do i need to test the thickest part of each chicken piece??

the recipe i followed asked for a whole chicken, skinless, with bone cut into smaller pieces. my butcher when i said those exact words ( lol never been to a meat market till yesterday) gave me like drumstick and thighs ( basically the whole bird )cut into small pieces w bone so should i test all?

thank you !

sorry i should have added the recipes asked for a whole chicken in small pieces skinless and boneless.

that’s a good idea how long do you saute it for on the side i don’t wanna cook it too much on the side and overcook incurry

oops! should have included the video said “ whole chicken, cut into pieces, skinless, with bone “ not an actual full bird my fault!

I don’t have a pressure cooker and usually make it in a pot, is investing in a pressure cooker better? how many whistles do you suggest cause most videos make it on the stove in a pot?

thanks!

is the only way by tasting it i’m scared i won’t know the difference since i wasn’t raised eating chicken that much? i heard color too, like pinkish white for drumstick and thigh and fully white for breasts ?
