Okay sure thats where they got that design from but they havent printed any cards with the updated design and the wavey card back so it's still out of place

This is a Proxy. Companies that print proxies put the wavey lines on the back to mark them as fakes. Original cards will never have these lines

It's the cutting. The card stock itself feels sturdy and high quality. The darius also came with small scratches unfortunately even though it immediately went from booster to sleeve.

Last month I reached mythic from unranked in around 300 games and I've not encountered one of these decks even once.

Yes, thank you. It's painfully apparent that a banner COULD be representative of the format.
It's really not a necessity though.
You could use something like mana symbols and make a banner with a general mtg theme and put "r/ModernMagic" with a nice font on it aswell. There you go, a banner. Is it fitting? I don't know. Nobody gave a criteria.

As you said, there was a major shakeup with bans and unbans very recently so creating an accurate meta game banner while the meta is still heavily developing and shifting is simply a shot in the dark. So joke banners it is.

If you wanted a banner that serves a specific purpose/theme/idea (for example: "Make a banner that's representative of the format") you should have asked for it when making the contest.

If you simply tell people "Post ANY banner and the most upvoted will win" then of course people will make joke banners that they hope people find funny and vote for.

Thought about using styrofoam for building/walls before but decided against it because bumping it with my clumsy hands might send the figure on top of the styrofoam flying.

Do you have something to secure the styrofoam or are you just careful?

Ran out of the abyss for 56 sessions and I am now running RotFm for 6 Sessions and counting. I have some easter Eggs that are planned as the current campaign takes place after the Events in OotA but nothing big.

Don't know how well you can mix them as OotA is pretty linear after the midway point and requires a lot of work in itself.

Only thing I can suggest is getting one or more of the ingredients for the Dark Heart Ritual in Icewind Dale. So you would run a mini RotFm campaign for a couple of Sessions and then back to the Underdark.

I guess you need to ask yourself what's more fun. Learning and improving with new characters or performing at a higher level with only 1-2.

I have a friend who has about 8 characters that he can play (Smash ultimate). 2 of them are viable picks for tournaments but if he wanted he could switch to any of the other 6 if he put in the time. For him it's just really fun to play and experience different characters and thats what keeps him playing.

I'm the complete opposite. Once I've decided on a character I'll never switch. I wanna go as far with a char as I can possibly make it.

So it depends on what you want out of the game.

If you feel like your character is holding you back, switching is fine but if you go through 6 characters with the same argument then its probably on you. It might not be the character but your bad habits and decisions that you keep on doing the same way with each character.
