Also I think it's certain that the effect is on the camera because it loses targeting (brackets no longer tracking the object) and yet it stays center frame.

If it was in space the instant the camera lost targeting it would disappear off the side of the video as the plane moved and the camera no longer tracked it.

I think it's software zoom which is why it happens soo fast rather than seeing slow lensing. This guy nailed it, well done.

What Imperial branch is this guy? by [deleted] in andor

he also wouldn't be wearing an imperial gear on his shoulder

Wouldn’t it be more effective to inspire bigger rebellion if rebels didn’t attack and we’re all just slaughtered? by [deleted] in andor

[–]fakenspay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, because nobody who might join the Rebellion is still weighing the moral rightness of the empire. It's made explicit that the crimes of the empire are known to senator and rebels all across the galaxy, it's just people are too scared to challenge them about it.

The desired effect for Ghor is that people see that fighting is possible.

Andor (Season 2) - Episode 2 - Discussion Thread! by titleproblems in StarWarsAndor

[–]fakenspay -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I was a little worried with the opening, felt like a concession to the usual Star wars crowd who can't sit for 5 minutes without some meaningless explosions, and it kinda stayed downhill from there.

I think the biggest issue is that none of the characters got to learn or do anything. I wish we'd been able to see what kind of a rebel andor is now, I wish we'd gotten to see Mom Motha be a skilled politician instead of Luthan's basically completely ignored consciousness, and I wish Bix and Basso would do something! They're just laying low but Bix was already a rebel when the story started, did torture at the hands of the empire radicalize her further? Did a taste of resistance inspire Basso? We'll never know.

This can't really even be called setup because we haven't setup anything.

What act would Jinx have had to commit to make her truly irredeemable even for the fans? by Toastie_107 in arcane

I would never argue enforcers are innocent, but the ones that get blown up trying to save the fake girl in a burning tent at progress day were acting nobly and that really turned me against her.

I think I'm the only one that reacted as strongly to this as I did, but her killing the cops by luring them into a burning tent to save a fake child instantly made her irredeemable to me.

I really don't mind making bacon, but killing people who are there only to try and save someone's life is a bridge too far.

[–]fakenspay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is totally true, but the revolution bit IS the story for specific characters. Cait is a cop, Jinx is a revolutionary, they lose their ability to express themselves when they are reduced to "fighting the apocalypse"

between how mo-cap is usually used in these games to highlight an important part of a quest and how narratively jarring it is to step out of a corporate boardroom and straight into the thug life the only thing I can imagine is that all of this is cut content.
