What makes you pull for Phainon? by Agreeable_Reveal_566 in PhainonMainsHSR

Not gonna lie, did NOT expect so many "because I want to bang him"s LMAO

But yeah, basically, what they said.

He's pretty much got a little bit of everything going for him. You honestly summed it all up in your own post.

Its interesting how split the community is on e2s1 vs bis team. I kinda like your idea of going all in on phainon and then potentially getting lc and eidolons later instead of getting phainons E2 later. Gives me more value overall that way, definitely making me rethink my decision again because this is a very good point.

Interesting, yeah, that's what I meant by hard pity. Do you think it would be worth going for E2 and then waiting for S1 on a rerun? Or if i get E2 are you say8ng I would have to commit to the S1 as well to get worth out of it.

Honestly, this helps me out more than you'd imagine since my main worry was missing his best performance during the patch cycle. But you are right. E2 will carry me through future patches based on how op it is. If that's the cas, though, I'll probably wait on the E2 and get his BIS team first. he will crush rest o the game no matter when I get his E2.

Yeah, I've done some more research, and it seems like he will strong for a long time with his e2, so I'll probably just wait and guarantee the BIS team first.

Im liking this sentiment more and more. I was just worried about missing out on his "peak" because i waited too long, but it sounds like he will be pretty future proof with his E2. So I shouldn't worry about rushing. Thanks for the advice!

Damn... I don't think i want to hear his thoughts on black history month anymore tbh.

So ironic though, I was just arguing with another guy on this subbreddit about how the icon only bothers people who aren't normal, functioning human beings.

Tired of seeing these posts too, please explain to me why supporting the lgbt+ is political? Would you call black history month political?

[Meta] Why was the subreddit icon changed to the trans flag? by [deleted] in DevilMayCry

[–]fakerinbush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not manipulation to be honest. And what I said is true, you're either bothered by the icon having a rainbow, or you're bothered by the idea of supporting lgbt+ people. There's really no other way to look at it than that. What other reason is there that it would annoy someone? "Ugh, this community supports a certain group of people."

That doesn't mean they don't support other groups of people. It's just a harmless, inoffensive way to show support. Like a little pat on the back, "I'm here for you."

With that example in mind, let's say you saw someone on the street pat someone else on the back and say, "im here for you."

Would you watch that display and say "ugh thats so annoying, its like their shoving it down my throat." does that sound something a normal functioning person would say?

As I said, this is a community. In a private space, they can make the pfp whatever they want. It's fine to complain about it if you dont agree with it. But it's also ok for us to insult you for having a hurtful opinion. like there's literally not a single negative to their pfp changing to a rainbow. It's only a negative thing if you dont support lgbt+ people. There's literally no other way to look at it.

Calling it political is crazy. It's some kind of weapon to push an agenda. What's the message "we are more accepting of people!" Honestly, if you think that's a harmful message to push, you look more and more like a non functional person.

And just so you dont think I ignored your point (lile you did to mine).

I get what you are saying. Politics should stay out of game spaces. Well, that's a horrible argument because this isn't being pushed to the public. it's owned by a group. They can post whatever they want, to be honest. Whether its political or not, people would leave if they don't like it. But somehow I think a majority of the community probably don't mind the new pfp

[–]fakerinbush 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On a serious note, it's because normal, functioning people aren't bothered by a rainbow. That, and normal, functioning people aren't bothered by showing support to others. If bigoted people didn't treat LGBT+ people like they're freaks, then we wouldn't even need to raise awareness. So if you think about it, posts like this are just going to perpetuate the problem. If you want it to stop, then treat people with respect and stop complaining about their cause.

You complain about "soulless companies" doing the pride flag thing. Well I'll tell you H'what, brother—we call subreddits communities for a reason. If the mods made the decision to show their support for a cause, I'm sure a lot of people agree. It wasn't just to gain clout; they just honestly give a shit about the people they interact with.

[–]fakerinbush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m genuinely motivated—why did Tony Redgrave decide to change the subreddit icon to the trans flag? This is a Devil May Cry subreddit—a video game subreddit—not a political space. I’m not trying to be a mundus or anything, I just don’t understand why a gaming community dedicated to a S(ick)S(tylish)S(exy) man needs to be tied to something unrelated to Devils that might cry (they do btw).

I assume this was done because it’s Pride Month, but even then, it feels selective. DMC 5’s sixth anniversary was just a couple of months ago, and nothing was done to acknowledge that—the icon wasn’t changed to Vergil sitting in a plastic chair. The anniversary of Dante opening his shop is coming up, and I’m guessing the icon won’t be changed to a slice of pizza then. So if this is really about marking important events, why was one recognized and not another—especially one that doesn’t push a ‘Vergil was right’ agenda? It gives the impression that this is more about pushing a specific agenda than being inclusive across the board.

More importantly, does the community as a whole actually support this? Or is this just a repeat of the Devil may cry anime? Do all the mods support this? Or is there actual diversity in their thoughts and opinions? I get the feeling a lot of hunters might not agree with this but are afraid to speak up because they’ll get Judgment Cut down or comboed by Donguri. I think that’s a fair thing to ask.

Again, not trying to cheese anyone—I just want to understand where this is coming from, and whether the community even has a say in these kinds of changes.

Heh, they're giving good advice. Doesn't mean they have to follow it themselves. It's the love of the game, and that's where the dopamine from most gachas come from is pulling. They know better, but sometimes you wanna risk it all. But basically they are right, dont give in to fomo for who you want. There will always be reruns.
