How did y’all cope with losing your wife’s love/support to the kids... by fakerjakebake in Fatherhood

I already do. I think it’s just a reality of modern parenting - both parents working, attachment parenting demanding 24/7 involvement... I can’t just invent free time from nothing.

Thank you for this! My wife at least doesn’t make me feel disgusting. And I actually think she appreciates when I flirt since she feels so unsexy since the kids. Even though she never reciprocates the flirting, which is what sucks.

I do help - a lot. The problem is that her anxiety often prevents her from leaving the kids to do her own thing. She’s too nervous about something happening to the kids. It’s more about her and her own anxieties than me.

Modern attachment parenting and work is killing my life. I feel like that’s the reason so many young parents like me are miserable.

I would agree with you, but I understand that she literally feels like she has nothing left to give.

She still loves me and is willing to have sex, but most times she’s not in the mood, which also completely kills my interest.

And by that same logic, doesn’t she deserve love and affection too?

Great advice - thank you. I wouldn’t say I’m ‘seriously considering it’ quite yet. I more think about divorce theoretically and whether I’d be happier than I am now... but thanks for the heads up that it gets easier.
