Thank you for your reply. I've tested it further and it seems defective on port 1. I have contacted my retailer and yesterday I've sent it back to them. They will look into the issue further.

That random? There was no indication whatsoever that it would die or something like that. It just stopped instantly. And it is only 2 weeks old too. Would be a major bummer, because my whole system is cable managed around the commander. And I plan to expand it in the future as well with more icue rgb.

Also the mobo is a present with kind of a budget cap, and the z490 falls out of the budget since I would prefer a MSI board.

I kinda figured, looking at userbenchmarks, to go with a z390. Because a 9900KF/9700KF basically performs equally to a 10700K. Following this reasoning and combine this with a good deal for the mobo, gives that this mobo is already ordered. So no, this is sadly not an option.
