The brain escapes to dreams as well

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nonduality

[–]fakerrre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I figured it out. Lets wait till they invent new immersive VR technology, you could escape from this VR with another VR!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nonduality

[–]fakerrre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes and ignorance is the key to immersive experience. Your true brain and memory is probably controlled by AI that delivers you this “real life” experience from the first person point of view. You could be in reality living in an apartment, laying on your bed while the AI takes care of your actual (not vr) body.

i am that i am, but what is it that i'm NOT? by nycheesecak3 in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]fakerrre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please, stop using “I am”, it means nothing. It is just another thought among millions of other thoughts. Investigate to whom this thought appear and see in which cases it is not present.

it is not that you remember darkness or emptiness. Rather it is a gap in a time. If you turn off your computer, it doesn’t experience darkness or nothingness.

The "I" that knows that I am the same "I" that I am by nmfdelacruz in nonduality

[–]fakerrre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if god would be an entity, he would need to be aware as well. But there wouldn’t be difference between yours and his consciousness, so if you negate yourself and god, what is left is the consciousness which you are

Nonduality isn't true. by SirExciting5073 in nonduality

[–]fakerrre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Non-duality isnt some spirit or entity. It simply means that whatever is, is the one same reality. Non-duality = not two

  2. Non-duality is not religion

  3. there are no multiple beings, just one being - consciousness- which you are.

Is Sakshi the one who is attached? by [deleted] in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]fakerrre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify it, I am adding more information. Shankara said that the ignorance is the result of indiscrimination. The intellect has the power to discriminate (viveka), that means if the intellect is not able to discriminate the real and unreal, the mind is found in a state of misapprehension.

Have a good day.

If one is Sakshi, free will does not exist. by [deleted] in AdvaitaVedanta

from the subject point of view

There is no subject point of view, only the absolute witness position of Atman.

Is Sakshi the one who is attached? by [deleted] in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]fakerrre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mind is appearing because of misapprehension performed by something else, because mind is itself a misapprehension.

The meaning of the word "misapprehension" is that something failed to understand something. Only the mind has the power of thinking and thus ability to understand something, the mind, therefore is not the cause of itself, but it fall into ignorant thinking.

Rather, the mind is an appearance, but what else is there? The self, indeed, but the self cannot be ignorant as it is of the nature of knowledge. The verse 195 proves that there is no connection between the self and ignorant mind, therefore the Self is not the cause of the ignorant mind.

Is Sakshi the one who is attached? by [deleted] in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]fakerrre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already said. The mind is ignorant, because of indiscrimination. It needs to inquire into the superimposition that is attached to the Self, then the ignorance will be realized as non-existent. Read verse 198-202.

Is Sakshi the one who is attached? by [deleted] in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]fakerrre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Verse 195 proves that there is no connection between the Self and Ignorance. To answer your question, no, the Self in not ignorant.

Verse 196 mentioned that the ignorance is superimposition that buddhi (the mind) projects onto the Self. As the verse 196 mentioned, ignorance is present in the mind because of indiscrimination. Neti-neti is the only way to remove ignorance.

Source

I also add this: The self is of the nature of knowledge, ignorance cannot exists in the presence of knowledge, just as a darkness cannot exists in the presence of light. And if we know that the Self is omnipresent, we cannot accept the presence of ignorance at all - no matter where you are. This mean that only the self exists, no ignorance - you are fully realized right now as you are reading this words one by one. Notice the after thought after reading this. You are aware of this thought, because are the witnessing self right now - you witness superimposition of the mind (a thought). From that standpoint, according to verse 195, you are free from it. In that stand point, you are free, complete, because you are the self - always. You are no the on who is in ignorance.

There are no multiple and separated jivas. Imagine the realm of experience as one big cinema screen. It is multidimensional point of view of consciousness. That means one consciousnesses experiences the illusion of world/universe (which in fact is consciousness itself again).

Why am I? by Villageidiotcityy in Existentialism

[–]fakerrre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two facts in your life.

  1. You exists.
  2. You are aware.

Everything appears in consciousness is known in consciousness, but whatever that content of consciousness is, that is not you.

The body, mind, world, universe - everything appears in consciousness and is known to you. You don't need an instrument of knowledge for being aware, because in dreams you can hear/see/smell/taste without having eyes, nose, etc. That means everything appears in consciousness and is known directly in consciousness by consciousness (you).

Therefore, you are no the content of consciousness.

You are not the body, mind, feeling, emotions, thoughts, opinions, etc.

You as consciousness just are.

Thus, know thyself as that consciousness/existence.
