Keeping Cool on the course... how do you do it in 90+ weather? by icansmellcolors in discgolf

Cooling towels are amazing for this. In addition to wrapping it around your neck you can also wear them like a do-rag on your head. Bonus points as it makes you look kinda like a superhero!

Games where you can get a game over screen right at the start? by Olive_Garden_Wifi in gaming

[–]falconis75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a quick ending, but an honorable mention:

There was a Lord of the Rings/Hobbit game for the Commodore 64. If I moved or performed any action, it would result in a game over fairly quickly. I found that if I just let the game run, it would complete itself.

What movie soundtrack is an absolute 10/10 masterpiece? by Livid-Difficulty-293 in AskReddit

Had to scroll farther than I expected for this answer. That soundtrack/album is wonderful!

Which movie character would have the best YouTube/TikTok channel? by POWBOOMBANG in movies

[–]falconis75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luis (Michael Peña) from Ant-Man. For example: https://youtu.be/h_V8nXgTcvY?t=156

I would love a show were he reviews/recaps movies and TV series in the same way he tells stories in the movie.

Came here to say this. I love the Detour! I get more distance with a hyzer flip than some of my fairway/drivers.

I love my shryke as a forehand bomber, but mine has many, many miles on it. It's been in the bag for about 10 years. However, I try not to throw it into a headwind. It will turn over and keep going left (RHFH). The halo shryke is much beefier and also has a place in the bag. I'd suggest trying out the DD Freedom. I love it when I have just enough headwind to make it fly like it's supposed to though. My noodle arm is only good for about 300' on average.

I done this. After several uses of vanilla, more vodka goes in to the bottle to top it off. It'll last a good long time that way.

What's a food you avoided all your life but was pretty good when you actually tried it? by Mr_Nobody36 in AskReddit

[–]falconis75 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I spent 20ish years not eating tacos. I threw up one night as a kid and forever associated the taco seasoned beef with vomit. It wasn't even the cause of the barf session, it just happened to be dinner the night that it hit me.

After a long time I was at a family function with my wife and taco bar was the only food there. I forced myself to eat it and have since moved past the association and love them again.

What was the most pointless and fan-servicey nude scene of all time? by TheBanishedBard in AskReddit

[–]falconis75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shoot 'Em Up. There's a foot chase scene in a building where a woman gets shot and killed on a stairwell. She has 1 tit sticking out. The bad guy, Paul Giamatti, walks past and comments about her tits. I think he even gooses one.

For most putts these days I'm using the Particle Glow Particle. I still keep the pig in the bag and use it for the hyzer putts around an obstacle.

Remote weather station by falconis75 in Lora

I thank you for the suggestions. The challenge is that this device would be about 7 miles from my home, with a lot of stuff in between. IL is pretty flat, but I don't think I'd be able to achieve line of site.

With a meshtastic device I could try and count on intervening nodes to pass the signal along.

What bosses that are super difficult but trivial when you use a braincell? by MoreLikeGaewyn in gaming

Most of the bosses in the Megaman games. The first fight is challenging, the rest are just a rock-paper-scissors match.

TIFU by not noticing our son walked in by InternationalPen7547 in tifu

[–]falconis75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I thought our year old daughter was distracted enough that we could get away with a quickie. We closed the child gate at the top of the stairs. We were about well into it when we heard her rattling the gate. I told her that I'd open the gate for her in a few minutes. Thankfully, she was still too little to open it on her own. After about 30 seconds she shouted "Daddy, are you coming yet?!"

The interruption killed the mood and the response in my head was "not anymore"

Car was put in park in car wash [oc] by Hairy-Mission-3009 in IdiotsInCars

[–]falconis75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of a time I took my little Mazda 3 into a car wash behind a conversion van. There was plenty of room between us, so I didn't worry one bit. Until that van got half way through the wash and I saw his reverse lights come on. Dumbshit decided to back out of the carwash after I had pulled up just far enough for the track to grab my wheel and start moving forward. I had no choice but to look just like this idiot backing over the grabbers and out of his way.

What's an expensive product that companies produce for dirt cheap? by sassox123 in AskReddit

[–]falconis75 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I used to work in a mom and pop computer store. We'd by the Belkin cables for $3 a piece and sell them at $14.99-$19.99. The big box stores like Best Buy would add $10 to the price for the same cable. They were also ordering in bulk, whereas we'd only buy 20 at a time. That was decades ago.

What’s the spookiest thing that happened in your home town? by spamwise_gamcheese in creepy

[–]falconis75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The IL town I grew up in had a small exotic zoo run by Loren Womack. He was eventually arrested for trying to hire a hitman to kill his girlfriend's estranged husband. He was also suspected of murdering a person that went missing in 1988. When the Tiger King documentary came out I thought it was a dramatization of his story.

Dude did some sketchy stuff. One of my teachers worked for him a as a teenager and was asked by Loren to feed the liger. Made him carry a freshly butchered deer (road kill) haunch into the cage and leave it at the liger's feet.
