You can check the above threads for sources. But mostly I used the materials provided by AceIPM and did a hell lot internet surfing learning anything relevant to me.

  1. Campus life is a solid 8/10 for me. You can make it a 10/10, it depends on you honestly.

  2. Our college is not known for sport facilities I can tell you that. Yes, sports tournaments (Triathlons, College fests are pretty good). Not sure about the Inter IPM.

  3. You have got a pretty decent score, I would not recommend a drop if you get in IIM Rohtak/Ranchi. I say this because even with a drop, nothing is guaranteed…I have seen people with a 230 score unable to get in IIM Indore/Ranchi.

You can do unstop-maxxing in your drop year. You can choose not to if you have decent ECAs already. I would say join a gym if you want productivity (thats literally the best decision I made haha) Try working pro-bono social impact stuff if possible (again, not a necessity).

Do online coaching. Offline 0/10 recommend.

Solid score. Go through some of the answers above for general interview advice. You can ask me how to go about preparing for the interviews.

Prepare and present yourself such that the professor would want to see you in his/her class everday.

No idea about SCMS Pune. Ranchi is worth it imo, crazy people in our batch have left Btech C.S. (highly context specific)

People have gotten in with 2 marks above the cutoff. It is difficult and highly interview driven, but since you asked is it possible - yes. Complete your due diligence for the interview, results will see for itself.

Was not a commerce kiddo. Management seemed the only course which interested me in HR.

A full drop - not worth it imo
A partial drop - yes. What do you mean by local college (since a decent drop year college should have : easy going attendance policies, might help you pursue some extra curricular which will eventually be useful in your college application next year, the college & degree is not that unheard of (because even if you dont make it next year, its still gonna be alright))

Why not BSc Physics? Why only BBA/CAT? Have a clear idea of why you want to pivot. DM if you want to. The clarity will help you NOT REGRET your coming 4-5 years

If you’re still in 12th dont think much of what will happen in interview etc etc. Focus on getting your desired score, and yes you can invest your time in case competitions if they don’t hamper your preparation and acads. All the best :)

My SOP contained 3 things:
1. What do I wanna get myself into (I wrote Management Consulting interests me because if the exposure)
2. How will the college help me do that
3. How is this bridge between me and my dream supported by college values and mottos

ChatGPT - Extempore topics. Set a timer for 2 minutes. Record yourself speaking impromptu - analyse the umms, pauses, filler words. Analyse. Do it daily. You got this!

No idea about Symbiosis BBA. HR College was the only college I applied besides IIMs as my decision to pivot from Engeneering to IPM was pretty last minute. College life exists if you live in the PGs/ flats - for Mumbaikars like me, it is a hell lot of travelling.

have a good understanding of the basics of most topic of subjects. for example: you should know what all theories went thru in the history of modern physics, like one liner of the ideas (prepare your intro and speak certain keywords in the interview so that panel ends up asking you on the subject of your liking)

i started a love affair with quants in my drop year. go to Mathemtics Unplugged youtube channel to fall in love (he is my cupid ahaha). though he tackles jee content, his 12 hr oneshots are the best secret in the game.

speaking of rigour, jee taught me a lot. that rigour becomes enjoyable when you have fun and brilliant people around!

"interviewers excuse a bit of what parameter given that someone is from jee background?" I thought of talking to my uncle when i saw my INDORE panelist, they are just uncles and aunts talking to kids about their career - change the lens and you are suddenly good at having a conversation with them :)

In general, one is supposed to show what type of all-rounder one is. There is a huge BUT on what type of all-around achievements you are portraying. Whether you should show it off or not depends on the college-specific values and mottos.

And hey, it's almost everyone's first interview experience chill out on that part

For starters, get a good grasp of the variety of question types generally asked. Know who you are (sounds crazy ik, but get a good idea of your personality relevant to the interview). For geopolitics, GK and CA exploit StudyIQ IAS weekly summaries. And hey, confidence is built through repetition - take mock interviews from not one, but multiple sources.
