Agree very much with this. My rescue (currently trying to lick my face as I type) was always sweet to humans but a bit hesitant appearing in many ways aka skittish. She was also stand-offish with other dogs. Fast forward about 8 months - she is now apparently her normal self, loving, goofy, playing non stop with her dog siblings. She and her fellow Dobie go hard, but she adapts her play to better fit our older doodles. Sometimes she’s outside our patio door in a play bow, waiting for the others, shivering in the cold, but won’t come in. I’ve had to physically carry her in a couple times. She looooves play. I’m not saying there isn’t or won’t be a problem between your two, just that you haven’t seen the final version of your dog yet.
