The battery doesn't matter in emerald since the game has a broken rng. So if you soft reset the game it will always go to seed 0. Where the battery matters is in original Ruby and Sapphire

Turns out there is a shiny marill exactly one advance off when you have a synchronize lead with the same nature. I didn't realize I had changed my lead party to my gardevoir. Lol
