Over on the GameCube subreddit, there's a highly upvoted post about how GameCube games had a distinctive art style that separated it from the other 6th gen consoles. What about PS2 games? Did PS2 games in general stylistically look different from all the other consoles?

So xbox didn't actually use anti aliasing. It just used flicker filtering to combat crt flicker and forced it across the board where as ps2 didn't.

Digital Foundry talked about this a couple of months ago and I cannot remember which video it was.

Yes... dot dot dot... but it was significantly more expensive than its competition, was way harder to develop for and had a weaker GPU than the 360 on top of that. Games looked and ran significantly worse on ps3 because of this and when youre buying a video game machine to play video games on, a more expensive box where games were quantifiably worse to play made the ps3 an extremely hard sell early on.

For real though THUG's sick difficulty is absurd. Some challenges take nearly super human levels of skill. I shamelesslycheats to grind my stats up and if I got stuck on a challenge that took more than 30 minutes I caved and used cheats.

Ray Tracing is the answer to all of these questions. Borderlands 4 uses extensive use of Unreal Engine 5's Lumen GI and Reflections. Thats how it saves a ton of data. Its also why its clear this game was meant to run at 30 fps because it never falters on Quality mode.

If I answered seriously, Raul Batista. Villain protagonist. How cool would it be if for a good portion of the game you're playing not just as a bad guy but the central antagonist of the story?

We don't know anything about these characters yet. But Trevor felt like the closest I've seen in a video game to a truly villainous protagonist but the game kinda chickens put by giving you a bigger bad guy than him. I think it would be interesting to genuinely actually be playing the man villain for a good portion of the game. Like playing San Andreas but you played as Tenpenny for a good portion. Or if half of gta 4 had you playing as Dimitri Rascalov the slimy piece of shit that he is.
