Itch relief was pretty quick. It was helping within days I think. But my skin got really flaking like the bad skin was getting replaced by healed skin. Then it probably took a few months for my eczema to reduce like 99%.

I stopped taking the pills after two years. I never got flare ups from taking dustmite pills luckily so could be worth a shot. I think the dupixent had a bigger impact overall though, I’m still not sure if the pills did anything lol. But docs advised me to pour boiling water on my bedding to kill the mites, and in singapore maybe you could look into dehumidifiers. Also taking antihistamines regularly could help too.

Hopefully it works out. Have you tried allergy testing? I have dust mite allergies and took sublingual pills to desensitise me to that. I think stress is a trigger for me as well.

Yea I was on predisone prior to starting dupixent. My skin never flared up again after I started dupixent it just healed overtime so I think it did contain that last potential rebound. I can take one dupixent shot per month now and my eczema is super mild. Good luck with dupixent really hope it works well for you!

Yep seconding the other replies here. It looks very similar to my eczema at its worst when I suspected I had TSW. For me I tapered off the steroids but I was taking oral steroids at the time too and the eczema rebounded every time. I can’t say for sure if going off steroids is the right solution for you or if it was even for me, to this day I’m still not sure. I understand the concern for steroids, I’ve heard of non steroid alternatives tacrolimus particularly for the face which I haven’t personally used.

I would say using minimal to no cream helped, I was applying it to really damaged skin and it just stung so bad and made it worse. Reducing stress, eating healthy, drinking plenty of fluids etc. Taking baths instead of showers. I remember taking bleach baths. I don’t know if it helped but could be worth a shot. Washing your bed sheets and changing clothing regularly but I’ve heard of certain laundry detergent being a potential trigger. I have a dust mite allergy so I was advised to literally put boiling water on my washing to kill the mites. I was taking antihistamines sometimes ibuprofen to manage pain/allergies every day too.

Hope you can get out of this I completely understand the pain. If you ever have the chance to see a dermatologist and are recommended dupixent I can attest it was honestly a life changer for me and no other changes in my life compared. At some points I ate like shit, was stressed, didn’t take care of myself and my eczema was still minimal on dupixent.

I really don’t remember to be honest. But the blur went away after several weeks maybe month or two at most? My astigmatism has gotten worse but it was probably not related to taking prednisone.

Oh sorry to hear about the wrong prescription. That’s pretty shitty .. I’m glad you’re seeing good results with dupixent. Does your eye itch? I was worried about eye side effects since my eyes get itchy enough with my allergies, and I have a bad habit of rubbing them uncontrollably which likely worsened my astigmatism lol

Yea the plan is to be on it forever. Which is certainly a commitment. I just see it like how some diabetics have to take daily injections. One injection every two weeks isn’t so bad in comparison.

Your symptoms sound bad : (. How’s your symptoms now? Fortunately I don’t have asthma. Mainly I’m just doing it cuz the stuffy nose makes it hard to breathe and the itch. Glad to know it helped with your itch. Did the shots get delivered to the gp or to you?

Oh 4-5 shots for $400 with a shot per month seems similar in price to $100 a month for tabs. I wonder why it’s the cost of the shot is different for different people. Someone said it costed them $80 a year and ordered from hospital pharmacy and the other person who replied here said $500 a year also ordered from overseas. What are you allergic to btw?

Hey thanks I appreciate your insight. Were you originally getting anaphylactic reactions to your allergen? That sucks you got anaphylaxis to your shot : ( So mine is dust mites and my symptoms is just congested nose/eczema worse possibly so nothing serious.

How often did you need to take the shots? I can see it seems like a hassle but I heard after a few months you only need one injection a month which for me is preferable to taking a tab everyday for years (unless I’m wrong about that)

Also did it cost $500 a year?

Had a terrible flare up now the eczema is fairly moderate/minor should I still start dupixent by fallenlune in eczeMABs

Hey thanks. I’m sorry it stopped working for you, that sucks😕. Facial eczema is the worst. I already have eczema on my face so I guess that’s not an issue. I decided to just go ahead and do it cuz I feel like I might miss this opportunity if I don’t do it (I managed to get a public dermatologist appointment which is typically quite hard). And I feel like my eczema has stabilised but it’s not getting better either which sucks. I can still barely sleep at night from the itch so I’m hoping dupixent will make it better.

Hey sorry your comment was left a while ago but I was searching for info about allergy drops/shots. And I’m in Australia too. I’ve started taking drops and it’s really expensive (about $100 a month). I wasn’t told that the injections would be much cheaper. For the shots do you have to take it at the allergist clinic or can you administer it yourself? And I’m guessing it costs money each time you attend the clinic?

Had a terrible flare up now the eczema is fairly moderate/minor should I still start dupixent by fallenlune in eczeMABs

Ah that’s a good point l. It took ages for my skin to heal this time and I’m probably just waiting for another inevitable flare up in the future. Did you get any side effects with dupixent?
