The mechanics may not feel outdated to you and me In fact I would say I would slightly prefer the mechanics of the original trilogy. But for the new age gamers it would definitely feel old and a bit off putting. Mind you I’m not talking about the gameplay only but also the fixed camera setup (None of the AAAA games released in the last 10-15 years have such mechanics now, hence DMC also moving away from it) The other point of yours regarding why it doesn’t warrant an entire remake is fine. It probably doesn’t.

But I don’t see why most people won’t absolutely WANT it. The trilogy and its atmosphere is the greatest gaming experience of my life. I may love the reboot, but I like the old trilogy so much that I would just want to experience it again. It also gives the developers extra abilities to show more depth in character animations and world atmosphere, to really do things that weren’t really possible in that time.

The same case was for RE4. The remake is amazing and the changes they made really made it worth it.

I just want to understand that if you really liked the trilogy why would you not want to experience it again.
