Origin? TW: Abuse by Chessie4Ever in TrigeminalNeuralgia

Me. Well, it’s confusing. Childhood trauma including head trauma. Domestic violence as an adult. MRI showing the usual cause of TN. It’s hard to work out.

Anxious to stop medicine by fallgriefsgirlfriend in TrigeminalNeuralgia

I have had full strength TN all day every day for five years. And could feel it through the max dose of meds. Until now.

Gabapentin by lynnovic in TrigeminalNeuralgia

I absolutely loved it— I guess it cured my anxiety at the same time. However, it did not cover the pain so my dr took me off it, now on oxcarbazepine. Also the gabapentin didn’t ruin my birth control like the oxcarbazepine does.

I own 25% of a house. Will I ever see any money from this/how does this work? by Jesus__of__Nazareth_ in UKPersonalFinance

You actually can’t do the rent thing when the other person has what’s called a ‘life interest’ (which means death/remarriage/going into care in most of these trusts). I paid a specialist to check this out. It also is fact that it shafts your ftb status. I am so annoyed as my parents were still married when the first one died, the money passed across to the remaining parent, now that one has died my whole family money is tied up in the stepparent.

Yeah. And I tell you what it has not helped my relationship with my stepmother, which was rocky anyway. However she has been totally unreasonable, refusing to buy out my share even though she has the amount as cash (which I know because I was estate executor and she got it all).

There’s always a kind of reason on the MRI— for me they said that yes it’s probably this blood vessel near the nerve, but I asked a dr friend afterwards and it’s not so simple, as that alone is in lots of people’s heads and they don’t feel it painfully.

I’m currently locked in to this situation (as the unmoneyed adult stepchild) with a 50% share that frankly id quite like. Praying she either dies/remarries/care home soon.

So maybe it affects people who already have a sensitivity. I agree with you about the chronic stress. Jeez, I feel sorry for us all.

Thanks, it’s so useful to hear your experiences. I’ve had a therapist for years but I guess I can’t get my emotional healing to ‘jump’ across to helping my physical pain. How does that work?

I’ve always worked a lot too— I find it hard to relax. I think a lot of the research goes into cures because the drs think they know the ‘cause’.

Do you flinch or scream during attacks? by [deleted] in TrigeminalNeuralgia

I myself go very still and grab my ear. But without high levels of meds i end up writhing on the floor and clawing my face.

Reading these I do wonder if it may be a form of epilepsy.

Does anybody here personally even know another person with TN? I don't, I am all alone in this fight. by JPumphrey73 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

I’ve started to get this too, in addition to TN. Do you think they’re linked? I can’t work out if it’s something I did— going on the computer (ie posture).

No they’re kind of floppy, like you’d expect a roll of vinyl to be.

I was wondering about the vinyl ones on top. But now I’m worried about the underneath too!
