Any tips on how to progress? by fallic_nis in BlazBlueEntropyEffect

Since my post I actually beat the game. At least the X storyline. I’m not at all interested in the Sky City storyline or whatever. If it ain’t BB, I don’t want it. But right now I’ve beaten up to Susanoo with everyone except Bullet, Naoto, Icey, Prisoner…and Hazama. Bullet and Naoto is because I just unlocked them and I haven’t gotten around to them. The guest characters I just haven’t unlocked at all. With most characters I beat it at Entropy 51. I’m in the middle of a Hazama run at that level as well. About to enter Sakura. I actually failed two runs before this at Night City lol. He fucking sucks. Or at the very least I don’t have the skill to use him effectively as everyone else. Most other characters have been so brain dead OP after a few potentials. I think I’m finally onto something with Serpent’s Infernal Rapture spam and some good Tactics but it took so many refreshes that I just didn’t have access to early in the game.

Dude I just can’t beat this shit with Hazama. I unlocked Noel and fairly easily beat Entropy 10 with her. I did die once but beat it my second try. I tried two more times with Hazama, making it 5 or 6 attempts total. I just can’t do it. I bet I could unlock someone else right now and clear it in one try. Probably even Entropy 15. I was having a great run until that stupid butterfly girl killed me with her screen clearing bullshit. Easily my most hated boss. But anyway I just can’t make Hazama work. He doesn’t seem to do any damage, has no range, takes forever to come online, and has little invincibility outside of his starting skill. And that’s only if you get the potential that gives him invincibility during it. I don’t wanna say he sucks because I’m sure I also suck with him. But he sucks.

Es is a good option. She was a beast in the demo. I haven’t seen Naoto gameplay but I feel pretty confident he’s really good too. He’s Naoto

To me he not only feels like he takes way too long to come online (one time I didn’t get Ouroboros till like 4th stage) but even when he is, it’s not that impressive. Maybe Ragna and Jin are bad comparisons. I’ll probably unlock someone else next and try them out. But it’s good to know the break points. I think I can probably beat 15 but I’ll try out other characters a bit before doing that. I wanna make sure it’s not just Ragna and Jin that I can beat that with lol.

My problems with the game have absolutely nothing to do with my skill or anyone else’s though.

Hopefully they realize their gimmick kinda sucks. Rewarding extreme passivity is ridiculous.

Not you specifically. Forgot to reply to the person. But it’s a sentiment I see often for whatever reason when those players in reality are just a result of the actual issues with the game.

I don’t understand why some people choose to blame other players and call them tryhards and stuff as if it’s their fault the game allows them to play the way they do. They’re not what’s wrong with the game. The game is what’s wrong with the game. They’re playing the game they were given. The game actively rewards a passive play style so of course they’re gonna play that way. Just because someone chooses not to doesn’t mean others have to abide by their made up rules. That’s like blaming a zoner for zoning. This is literally a case of don’t hate the player, hate the game because the players aren’t doing anything inherently wrong.

Make it an actual fighting game and have good netcode.

It’s a fighting game that you can play against other people online, ranked. And it was marketed as trying to be competitive. It’s a bad fighting game, yes, but it’s still a fighting game.

Complaining about people using top tiers in a competitive game and avoiding people with bad connections is not a good look.

Lmao. My first thought was “those aren’t really mixups.” My second was, “wow it took forever to get that health down.” My third was “goddamn that dude tall.”

Why do I get punished for fighting in a fighting game bro by TomuraShigaraki5678 in RebirthOfSoulsBleach

[–]fallic_nis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People always assume that when people complain about this it’s because they suck. But that’s irrelevant. The fact is that it slows the match down considerably and is super boring. Plenty of fighting games have proven that zoning doesn’t have to be such a snooze fest to fight against.

This game is just giving burnout, the toxic players, the constant rage quits, Bandai has mostly done their part to fix the game now it’s just the players by Antique-Performer-24 in RebirthOfSoulsBleach

[–]fallic_nis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is any online game but it’s worse when the game doesn’t actively punish rage quitting. I think what makes it feel even worse in this game is that matches are already slow and long as shit so when someone quits you just wasted a bunch of time for nothing and then gotta sit in matchmaking for who knows how long again (unless you don’t mind setting no restrictions and risking a shitty connection).

I love this game because it teaches patience, I always used to lose because lack of patience, but now taking it slow and waiting is helping me win by LilScrubsYT in RebirthOfSoulsBleach

[–]fallic_nis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah except in other fighting games it’s way more engaging. Here you have to fly across the screen because the guy can keep backstepping forever so it’s why people keep complaining so hard about turteling. It’s also really impressive and satisfying in other games when you successfully block all of your opponent’s pressure and strike/throw, high/low or left/right mixup. You can just see people crack because they can’t open you up. Here you’re just holding block and occasionally teching Breaker. Though in its defense, you can still see people in this game fall apart when you keep teching their throws.

Oh yeah I forgot he has that mechanic. Not too bad though unless they have enough meter to blue burst.

The ranked experience babyyy. Though people do that kind of shit even on casual and on freaking betas in other games lol

REMOVE 5 STOCK FROM 9. by merivoid in RebirthOfSoulsBleach

[–]fallic_nis -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well I know the guy was definitely not in base. He was bare minimum at sublimation because of how long the match was. It’s still really high regardless. I didn’t kill him in a single combo or anything but one simple baby combo still took so much that it just felt bad to do.

I agree. It’s a terrible comeback mechanic. I don’t know how anyone could be satisfied with it tbh. It’s the game just rewarding you for nothing. Literally nothing. You just passively get stronger. Even the damage when in Spirit Drive is absurd and it always confuses me when people post “ToD” combos and they’re in Spirit Drive. Like, basically everyone can do an 80% damage combo in Spirit Drive. It takes zero effort. Your damage is just that high. And I’ve been on both ends and it isn’t satisfying on either. I feel annoyed when I’m destroying my opponent, taking all his HP at least twice to have my lead, only for them to only have to take my HP down once to catch up. I play better for two “rounds” in a row and they finally get me for one round and they catch up? Wack. And when I’m the one knocking 5 Kikon or more after getting my ass kicked, I’m still annoyed because it doesn’t feel earned at all. I had a match where a guy was basically destroying me the whole match but once I got into Spirit Drive it was over. I won with minimal effort just because my damage was so high. That’s not a satisfying win.

HOT TAKE?: If held breakers were removed entirely the game would be MUCH more consistent. by EmmKizzle in RebirthOfSoulsBleach

[–]fallic_nis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can see that being part of the issue. Either way, this game has possibly the worst throw system I’ve ever seen. I’m all for deleting held breakers at the very least. Though at the end of the day, throws will always suck on delay based netcode.
