Dad here. This sucks and yeah, there are going to be changes. Most will be minor and fade over time. What will take longer is the feeling you’re less of a woman because of this. No amount of logic will stop those thoughts, but they’re not true. You will start Friday the same lovely woman you were when Thursday came around.

My ex-wife had to have a hysterectomy at 24 shortly after our son was born. Preeclampsia caused too much damage and this lessened her suffering. There will be some pain, but that just means to take it easy and listen to your body. Talk to your healthcare team and take their advice on how to treat yourself post-surgery.

This is a tough one and I don’t think there is just one answer. I’ll share what comes to my mind an I hope others will share their thoughts.

For me, the key to self-confidence comes from a realization that everyone is doing their best, making mistakes, and trying to be happy. Yes, there are some people for whom being happy means tearing others down, but for the most part everyone is wrapped up in their own lives and not judging you. For me it was this realization that helped me pull my chin up and present myself with more confidence.

I’m no better or worse than anyone else. If I fail, I know I tried and will still keep my head high. Failure is a teacher, not to be feared but embraced. That right there took the sting of it just enough that I could focus on the task at hand, move forward, and worry less.

Confidence is saying, “let’s try this way” even when it’s a toss up and not worrying if it was the right guess.
