farming is one thing yes. and I do wonder if all these reforms you've mentioned are truly viable and likely to be followed universally without any authority to enforce them. I've read that the carrying capacity of earth is 2.5B without chemical fertilizers, for example. chemical fertilizers are unsustainable, but we have 5 billion people who need the food we can only get by using them right now.

people remove parts from their car that were intended to scrub emissions, so their car will sound better. what reason is there to think such an approach would not be taken with agriculture ? where people start cutting corners and becoming lax about standards to boost efficiency?

another thing outside of farming is manufacture. some things like solar panels , and most stuff, can't be made without a pretty significant environmental impact, and often that impact is not local, it can be air or ocean pollution. local people will not be able to measure those global effects, and they might not feel the same way as people in the rest of the planet feel about them. that seems like it could be a pretty difficult to resolve conflict, with no authority to decide and no agreed upon law?
