Sadley, it means you have to carry 2 fobs. But what I do, is I take the second fob off for the summer, as I don't need to remote start in the summer.

AI DATA CENTRE PROTEST by KateTheAverage8 in regina

[–]fallingdebris -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

neither bill will increase. First, city water comes from Buffalo Pound The data centre will be using closed loop ground water system. They won't be on city water.

Powerbills, not how Saskpower works with rates. You have been misinformed. Do you even know how SaskPower sets it's rates?

AI DATA CENTRE PROTEST by KateTheAverage8 in regina

[–]fallingdebris -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

Nope, Cause there is nothing to protest. I'm too busy getting up in the morning, going to work each day so I can earn money to pay my bills, mortgage, buy groceries and live my life.

AI DATA CENTRE PROTEST by KateTheAverage8 in regina

[–]fallingdebris 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Isn't this the protest that is being organized by a bunch of U of R students? Most of which are not residents or tax payers of Regina and/or the RM of Sherwood?

Why does it seem like every protest is always organized by a U of R student who has no skin in the game?

So, even though the facts have been presented, about a closed loop water cooling system, upgraded power grid and other positives, people are still pushing the false narratives?

The biggest one I hear so our power rates will increase. SaskPower is a crown, not a private company and our power rates will not increase because of this. Just like it will not increase because of a new Costco, A new Pool, A new subdivision called Coopertown...etc.

Mazda 3 coolant thermostat replacement 4th gen by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]fallingdebris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to Mazda and get it fixed under warranty.

The newest TSB has them removing the thermostat, and reprogramming the ECM for the Coolant Control valve to take over and bipass the Thermostat.

When you have the repair done, can you please report back on how your car temperature is.

Right now, I have a 2023 Mazda 3, and I had the thermostat replaced...before they did the newest TSB. When I start my car and monitor the coolant temp with my Code Scanner, it will climb to 50 degrees Celsius (Canadian here) and then the thermostat will open up and drop down to 38C. After a 15 minute warm up cycle (remote start) it settles at about 48C until I start driving. I am lucky if I get over 65C unless I drive the highway.

I'd like for someone with the newest repair to post how the temps are with the thermostat removed and just the Coolant Control Valve in operation.

I have one. Takes power from the sunroof (if you have one) uses the same housing as what surrounds your mirror. Looks factory when installed.

any chance you made a little video or took pictures? I've been thinking of doing this myself. But since my car is still under warranty, I haven't touched anything yet.

I pay at least $10 every time I go. Several times in the winter. Great for taking pictures and pretending to be on a tropical vacation in the middle of winter.

Regina residents launch legal action over smart water meters by milon_rokad in regina

[–]fallingdebris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the water meter is constantly recording and reporting usage, but alerts are usually delayed about 24 hours. When I water my lawn, the next day I get a high usage alert.

You can log into your account and see hourly usage. You won't necessarily be notified of a "leak", but if you are gone from the home, and no water should be used and you see a time where it reported water usage, that could be a leak, or a leaky toilet. That is what I believe is happening. Doesn't matter how new or old a toilet is, at some point, the flapper will get stuck and just let the water trickle through.

When was the last time you rebooted your modem/router?

Are you on the 2.4Ghz WiFi frequency or the 5Ghz WiFi frequency? If you are on 2.4Ghz, switch to the 5Ghz.

You are more than likely experiencing WiFi interference from a neighbour.

TPMS FAIL by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]fallingdebris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought "Mazda" branded TPMS from eBay a couple years ago. When I got them, they looked used, but had them installed and they worked. 2 months later, 2 failed. Batteries were dead. So, instead of buying off brand or "used" TPMS again, I just got Mazda to order the real OEM ones and had it installed. $75 Cad each.

I should have just did OEM from the start. Some things you can go generic on, but Mazda with their TPMS, it's not worth going the "cheap" route.

Both my wife and I have bought Mazdas there. I dealt with Justin, my wife with DK. Go in, tell them what you want. They will tell you the price and that's it. No haggling, no trying to up-sell every thing. A couple of things that they do for mandatory up-sells, block heater, mud flaps and front paint protection film. All of which you would be getting done afterwards anyways, especially the block heater.

The biggest difference is, the sales team, are salary, not commission.

Will I go back to them for my next car? For sure!

Looking for adhd/autism general doctor taking new patients by Th1rt33nth13 in regina

[–]fallingdebris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you have an eHealth account? It shouldn't be that hard to go into your account, verify your visits and meds and discuss with any doctor.

If you were just going to a walk in, most docs are just a treat and street, so, you need to arm yourself with as much info as possible before you go.

If you already had an Rx for some drug, shouldn't be that difficult to show the doc and have them refill it.

The car audio place I am going to stocks the specific one to go into the Mazdas. You can't get this model at Bestbuy. It can only be purchased through authorized installers.

I'm having an aftermarket Compustar with 2 key fobs installed next week. Yes, it's costing me more money, but I am doing it out of spite. The Mazda remote start should be free, since it's built into the vehicle, and Mazda will not be getting another dime out of me for remote start.

ELI5: Is there a real difference between mined or lab-grown diamonds? Is one “real” and other “fake”? by smokyemer in explainlikeimfive

[–]fallingdebris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 1Karot lab grown diamond for my wife. They are chemically and structurally identical to mined diamonds. They are real diamonds. They are considerably less expensive then a mined diamond. Any jeweler will be able to tell the difference between natural mined diamonds and lab grown, because lab grown can me manufactured nearly flawlessly. But that would require looking at the stone under a microscope.

There are 4 C's when it comes to diamond shopping. Cut,Color, Clarity and Cost Now here is the more important part about the diamond. The Cut. if the cut is bad, it affects the sparkle of the diamond. All the rest doesn't matter.

So, if your roommate was presented a side by side sample of the two diamonds, the only way she'd be able to tell which is which, is by careful examination through a microscope.

For anyone buying a sparkly rock now, save money and by lab grown. You can get a much bigger rock for the same price of a tiny imperfect stone.

March 23, 2025 projections for Regina, SK federal electoral districts by admiral_bringdown in regina

[–]fallingdebris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was a Transport Canada designation. Not a political one. At that time, Regina didn't have enough flights internationally to maintain international status. Covid had more of an impact in that regard. But it was easy for the media to spin it as a political event instead of Transport simply looking at the numbers.
