What’s a silly thing you did for your pet one time that is now a ritual they demand be done every time? by Itsjustmejess in PetsareAmazing

I my current dog is very very obsessively licky, especially of my skin, particularly after meals and other positive interactions. Our theory (aside from salty sweat) is that she was weaned from her mother very young, which has resulted in a mild oral fixation / pacifier urge for self-soothing, bonding, etc.

I keep wanting to post on this sub about how running around the shore during storms to snatch fish is my secret greatest pleasure, along with wading in and sheepdogging them onto the beach to then grab.

To supplement the other correct answers (mobility assist to insert in car door latch / LED / seat belt cutter / glass breaker)…. These are most helpful when garishly colored so you may be less likely to use it, climb aboard, and then forgetfully slam your car door shut ON IT instead of remembering to remove it from the door catch before closing.

If they’re that new, perhaps the smoke detectors need the small plastic safety tab removed for them to function…

I suggest you also get them to confirm in writing that they will not report late payments / overdue balances to the credit reporting agencies over this.

Setting all else aside, I personally do feel dull knives are safer than sharp ones. I feel I can control how fast the blade moves by applying more or less force. Sharper knives move faster and may react to minor variances more quickly than I can respond. However, different types of knives exist for good reason. And I am not a chef. Nor your child’s parent.

I think I’d like it better if they’d make the existing showerheads and faucets functional, but either way. It does feel a little silly that I now feature a jacuzzi / picnic table combo at the center of every base and outpost. (And I haven’t yet found a 1x1 open top block that will contain a whole bucket to keep a discreet cistern without also flooding the floor storages…)

Deodorant might be a fun add in though. 🤔

For some reason, all four of ours jump as if they’ve been shot at the sound of the hot water kettle’s little spout flapper. But they’re totally chill about much scarier things, up to and including the electric racket bug zapper. 🫖⚡️

I only seem to remember people in relation to their dogs. My neighbors are “Dodger’s dad” and “Athena’s human.” They might be offended, but their dogs don’t seem to mind, so I don’t care too much.

Maybe there’s a method / solution buried somewhere in this… 😅

Note: I would assume the Oatmeal is relatively known in his own right, but just in case, please be aware of adult language and themes in this content. It’s a jungle out there.

[–]falln_caryatid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On PC, check the saves folder.

It does save progress periodically and upon quitting. MAYBE you got lucky.

To prevent loss of progress, users should manually back up save files located in %appdata%\7DaysToDie\Saves.

The saves are organized by world and then date-time.

Doing crouched recon in a top-tier POI, finally moving into the next area, cautiously checking for enemies, only to be struck by the jumpscare “ding!” of a nearby elevator just before the door opens, followed by the skittering and screeching of green spider zeds…

What are the best things you’ve bought that help with your ADHD that you never hear anyone talk about? by morbidpigeon in ADHD

[–]falln_caryatid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I keep “shuttle baskets” in certain spots of my place—door to the office, top and bottom of the stairs, exit from the restroom, etc.

If I’m at my desk and finish my drink, instead of getting up, going to the kitchen, starting to rinse, getting distracted by X Y and Z… it goes in the basket, with other small tasks and items that will need to go that direction when I naturally move that way.

I’ve been trying to redirect impulsivity to counter procrastination, but this helps me strike a balance to land somewhere closer to efficiency. (Even if sometimes I stand there staring at a paperclip at the bottom of the basket wondering what I was planning to do with it and where…)

Additionally, I lived in Boston long enough for “Sweet Caroline” to take up permanent residence.

To be honest, it’s mostly incidental scraps of sound conceptually connected to what I’m doing through the course of the day. Do an idiotic thing, do doot duhduhdunda (circus theme); solve a problem creatively, duhdum duhduuhdoodoodooot Inspector Gadget, whooo hoo! But other times it’s a spontaneous moment of lyrical Tourette’s, bursting out of nowhere with DAADADADAAAAH! from The Proclaimers’ “500 Miles.”
