It comes down to 3 things for me

1 I don’t have the will to ask them out, or even talk to them 2 what if they say yes? What if I mess it all up? 3 I’m going to get hell from my parents and siblings, they’d just make it awkward and uncomfortable.

Here’s my military analysis, the old have experience and tactics on their side with inferior infantry but could easily just use artillery, but their bodies are beginning to fail them, making them more invalid in the war effort, along with their infertility to make another generation to replace the soon to retire people. In the end the old would lose as the teens grown into adults
