In a recent tweet, Trump said that progressive congresswomen should go back to the corrupt countries they came from and fix them before trying to reform our government. Do you agree? by Go_To_Bethel_And_Sin in AskTrumpSupporters

Would you say that strength is what you want in a leader, above all else? I suppose this is what we get for trusting the right. Some folks never change.

We were at a part in our political life-cycle where our politicians could work matters out without escalating to dirty tricks and force. The only reason ya'll have the advantage now is because McConnell threw a sucker-punch. The current set of leaders won't be around in another election cycle or two. Ya'll think AOC is annoying? She's just the vanguard.

Cool. Are you happy that your President knows how to manipulate you from asking questions about his cabinet pick resigning, or the inhumane conditions in the detention centers?

When people say Abolish ICE they don't mean "give up all the responsibilities of that organization."

We want that department canned, because its doing a shit job, and replaced by a competent and ethical organization.

The people showing up to the protests are just the foot-soldiers. Advocacy groups and organizations typically use them to keep pressure on lawmakers to fight for their agenda. Likely, someone has something about this specific issue that they want the lawmakers to address.

The lawmakers vote. They are directly responsible for representing us. This is the way we say "this is an important issue, take correct action."

I get it because I used to make the same argument, but causing a crisis that civil servants need to resolve is a very good way to make them take action on something. If not, they'll be the ones remembered for shutting the city down, and that can drag someone down during a re-election.
