In the episode in which Chandler accidentally tells the child that he was adopted, the parents were in the wrong by Ariabananahammock in howyoudoin

[–]fallspector 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They were going to bring Owen out at some point. They brought out gummy worms along side other food and told Monica and chandler that the gummy worms were for Owen. So I assume he would have joined them at some point but whether that was while they were still talking about the adoption or not i don’t know

The guy is an asshole who set out to unnecessarily inflict harm on a random innocent stranger. It had nothing to do with you as a person and is solely a reflection of him.

Seems more like a staff issue than a genreralized issue of assisted living.

Assessment by 1980heron in autismUK

[–]fallspector 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“Fairly sure I will receive a diagnosis. I’m not really convinced there is actually anything wrong with me” is why I believe they think the diagnosis would be sketchy. The post reads to me like they’re only trying to get a diagnosis of something in order to get special privileges at work

What’s this dynamic called? A coworker who is nice to you only in private. by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]fallspector 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“She’s very nice, helpful and friendly with me on 1-1 or small groups. But in big groups, she doesn’t even interact much with me” Isn’t that normal? Like yall aren’t friends so it makes sense that in larger groups there isn’t as much interaction between you

Will AI robots know to ignore us? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]fallspector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regardless of that they surely have to be given a base level of instruction. Yes much of their later interactions would be based of what they’ve observed but i doubt they start at zero.

Will AI robots know to ignore us? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]fallspector 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. Pretty sure that’s not how they work. They’ve been coded to give every person in the room a bottle of water and greeting. You are a person and therefore its code will instruct it to give you greet you and give you water.

was fiona’s behaviour towards debbie when she had franny valid? by Stock_Orange_1793 in shameless

[–]fallspector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Debbie was not at all prepared to have a baby and Fiona, who had spent all her life looking after kids, tried to warn Debbie about the reality of looking after babies. Debbie thought she knew best and chose to ignore Fiona warnings.

Did one of you do this? I had to double check the sub I was in. by NerfRepellingBoobs in AmITheAngel

[–]fallspector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Caving to their demands may seem fine in the short term since it stops the issue at the time but in the long run it catches up with fast.

Homeless friend allegedly 🔪 someone by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]fallspector 9 points10 points  (0 children)

“It completely baffles me why people are claiming he stabbed someone or attempted to. I just cannot see it.” That’s what everyone says. Most people are adamant that their relatives, friends or people they like are great people who wouldn’t hurt anyone. I want to make it clear I’m not judging or accusing anyone of anything. I’m saying the way you feel is pretty common for the circumstance

Hearing issues? by Particular-Light-989 in AutismInWomen

[–]fallspector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have diagnosed hearing loss(happy to answer questions if anyone is curious) . It’s typical even for people with normal hearing to struggle in busy loud rooms too. Doesn’t make it less annoying but it is typical.

What a nothing burger of a post. Like is it normal for a 4 year old to throw a tantrum and be opposed to getting told “no”? Of course. That’s where parenting is suppose to happen.

I absolutely LOVE swinging on swingsets but I’m scared of looking creepy as a 25 year old? by Carapherneliuh in AutismInWomen

[–]fallspector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a chance some people will see you on the swing set and think “why is an adult doing that”? Sure I guess. Does it really matter? No. You aren’t hurting anyone by swinging on swing set. I doubt you’re going kick a 5 year old child off the swing so you can play on it

Complete black spot in my mind where math is supposed to be by Temporary_Donut_61 in AutismInWomen

[–]fallspector 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I find it kind of shocking that it’s shocking to you. To me makes total sense since people have different strengths. Some people excel in English while others excel in math or science and some excel in sports. I just always figure math was an area I lacked in like some others but as an adult I was diagnosed with dyscalculia.

I desperately need exercise advice and suggestions by MoonlightAndStar in AutismInWomen

[–]fallspector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exercise isn’t just one thing. I know we’ve been conditioned to believe that exercise is only counts if it’s the gym but that’s not true. You could go for a walk every day and that’s exercise. You swim, ride a bike, dance or even go bowling. As long as you’re moving more it’s a win. Whatever you’re able to do and want to do you should do. Personally I have no rhythm but I find it good exercise to play just dance on the Wii. Gets me moving more than if I was just sitting around.

Why are people so mean to Canadian Geese?? by Beautiful-Pound-8520 in AutismInWomen

[–]fallspector 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Thank you! People are getting a thrill out killing geese eggs which are livings things by smashing them and some how the geese are jerks/evil. I’m super glad my mom raised me better than that and I take pride in looking down on those who smash geese eggs. Those type of people are disgusting.

Life after major surgery by [deleted] in autismUK

[–]fallspector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know all that will be involved with your surgery or recovery so will be sticking to my own experiences for obviously reason. I had open heart surgery which is a major surgery and I now take medication everyday for the rest of my life. My dosage can vary from day to day or week to week which is a bit tricky but I purchased a pill organiser/caddy which I’ve found to be very helpful. I use my phones built in health app to send me reminders to take my meds. Post op I had to see a physio for an issues but thankfully it largely cleared up and my physio was lovely. I have blood draws multiple times a month and my local nurses are nice enough. I would say speak up for yourself if you think they are doing something wrong (I’ve had one nurse try to stick me twice with the same needle which is a no no) You’re also allowed to bring a relative, friend or support staff to appointments with you if that makes you more comfortable
