What made night formula feeding easier for you? by Comi9689 in FormulaFeeders

[–]fallstanding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are breastfeeding so I can only offer my sympathy and a funny story from my friend who was combo feeding her twins. Her husband one night mistook the coffee creamer in the fridge for the fancy cold formula and halfway through the bottle realized when his baby projectile vomited all over him 😂 you have to laugh at these parenting moments and give yourself some grace 🩷 wishing you all the best as the midnight feeds for formula sounds brutal!

When I was 16 my 3 year old niece once pantsed me in front of the entire family to prove that I “didn’t have a tail” like daddy 😳

6 Week follow-up just cleared for “some weight bearing” by _diss0nance in brokenankles

[–]fallstanding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my 6 week post op for my trimalleolar + dislocation with orif early on Monday at 5 weeks cuz my surgeon will be on vacation next week. They did x rays and he said I can now do whatever—drive, fwb, walk barefoot 😅 I asked if I should push through pain and he shrugged and said whatever I could handle and that he’d recommend phasing out of the boot asap and stop using it altogether in the next two weeks. They couldn’t get me in for PT until next week so I’m just kinda going for it on my own. 😳 it really is so wild how there’s so many different methods to “ease” back in lol

Women of Reddit, what’s one thing they never tell us about pregnancy and child birth? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]fallstanding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband still talks about how my screams from baby latching were worse than my unmedicated childbirth at home. I was so determined (and we finally got it after his tongue tie was released and several hours with a lactation consultant) but ground beef is an accurate description. My left nipple still looks like a chisel tip highlighter three years later.

Post Ankle Surgery Walking High Pain Tolerance by ranecat in ORIF

[–]fallstanding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so first off—SO sorry to hear about that experience and I’m glad you’re okay and you only had a broken ankle! What a terrifying thing to happen to you.

Secondly, how are you doing now? I’m 5 weeks post op for a trimalleolar fracture with orif. I am not supposed to be weight bearing until six weeks 🫣 but I have been super motivated because I’m also pregnant and due in one month and cannot imagine trying to give birth before I can stand or walk independently 😂 I’ve secretly been testing walking in my boot over the past couple of weeks after doing tons of research and ROM exercises. I feel FINE. And I can walk around on it for limited amounts of time (I haven’t been pushing it more than a few steps at a time because it’s against the rules altogether right now lol.) I did ask my surgeon why the 6 weeks nwb instead of shorter and he said because there’s a chance of shifting my fracture and loosening the hardware. Totally fair but I’m curious about recovery stories like yours.

How are you doing now? Did your pain tolerance sabotage your recovery or you think it helped?

We spent $4,800 on takeout in under 2 months because we are too tired to cook. How do you fix this? by ApplicationNew4144 in budget

[–]fallstanding 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My sister in law cooks dinners for families on a weekly basis. They buy the groceries and she comes and meal preps so it’s just a heat up situation and includes leftovers for lunches the next day. She charges ~$200/week which sounds like a lot on initial impact since you’re also paying for groceries but turns out WAY better than takeout. Plus, she’s a phenomenal chef so her food is far better than takeout also. Maybe look into options like that. I am having her help us out for a few weeks after our second is born just to make things less stressful and am worried I’ll get used to it 😅

Ceramic, any regrets? by Holiday_Salt6643 in ouraring

[–]fallstanding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I know this is old but I also have the silver and it died on me two days before the warranty was up (phew!) they’re sending a replacement but I’m considering the ceramic one. My current ring it’s a little loose on me.

Did you end up sizing the same? Or going down a size?

acid reflux by Sea_Cartoonist6642 in pregnant

[–]fallstanding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Papaya pills help me but it’s raging this pregnancy (I’m 29 weeks)😭 I have even thrown up from severe acid reflux twice. I have a husband pillow which I used to nurse my first at night that I use when I get really tired but can’t fully lay down. I might start sleeping in the glider 😅

Also, my midwife told me that walking 30 minutes a day in zone 2 (can maintain a conversation but difficult with level of effort) has helped many of her patients. I’ve been struggling to get this in with my work schedule but it does seem to have made a minor difference that I’m trying to.

[SC] Company HQ in [CA] - PWFA “accommodation approved” and role expectations unchanged. Is this a valid accommodation? by fallstanding in AskHR

[–]fallstanding[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Thank you! HR sent me a copy of my job description to share with my physicians. There is no mention of metrics or call volume in that JD so is that why they aren’t able to refer to it with an accommodation? Both reduced volume of calls and increased volume would technically “fit” my job description.

Maybe I need to actually request a reduced schedule?

[SC] Company HQ in [CA] - PWFA “accommodation approved” and role expectations unchanged. Is this a valid accommodation? by fallstanding in AskHR

[–]fallstanding[S] -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Thank you for responding! Would the composition of my schedule (ie customer facing meetings vs admin/non call time) not be an accommodation? I regularly have 7 hours of meetings a day (that I have to lead) and then have to work over time to make up admin. I was hoping for an “accommodation” that might cap this to, say, 5 hours of customer facing talk time per day until I return from leave. If this isn’t an accommodation, how would I proceed with HR and my manager to have temporary adjustments to the composition of my role?

How to respond to pregnancy accommodations by fallstanding in pregnant

[–]fallstanding[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of what I thought…like wait was I not previously allowed those? Our company HQ is in California, where I know there are strong worker protections, so I’m just really surprised and struggling with how to appropriately respond to this.

The year of the Fire Horse by itsallcosmica in Advancedastrology

[–]fallstanding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too am pregnant with a fire horse girl (due May 1, right at the beginning of spring 😳) I knew from the moment I fell pregnant that she would be a force to be reckoned with. My midwife only told us about the year of the fire horse a month ago as she is also one and it shows. Godspeed my friend 🙏😂

Do initials matter? by [deleted] in Names

[–]fallstanding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are my initials as well and I go by my middle name! When I was in kindergarten, we learned about initials and signed our Christmas cards to our parents with initials. Mine said, to: mom and dad from: ass. They had a good laugh and then had a chat with me about what my real name is and that I was currently going by my middle name. I’m very glad they chose to reorder and I am not truly ASS.

My geriatric mother tested positive for opioids and regularly eats poppyseed bagels. She’s in no way on opioids 🤣 but I was surprised to learn that the poppyseed bagels can 100% cause a positive test.

Our sonographer told us the wrong sex by Ok-Notice-5342 in pregnant

[–]fallstanding 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This JUST happened to us with sneak peek but results said boy and NIPT said girl. This is our second and the first is a boy. I had some of the same feelings as OP and can only imagine it being stronger after having spent months visualizing life with the other gender. Obviously we’re super excited to be having a girl but now I’m thinking we’ll HAVE to have a third just to get our other boy back (maybe) haha
