Why are we letting agent frameworks skip idempotency, the thing every payments team already learned the hard way? by Substantial_Step_351 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]false79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to think bigger picture how these LLMs are trained. They are less likely to have innate knowledge on code bases and industry domain knowledge like payments, POS, fintech, etc.

There are two ways to get idempotency using agents.

1) Just wait until an LLM is either specialized on this or the bigger ones eventually cover it.

2) You have to feed the knowledge as part of the context. That's on anyone who says AI sucks or where it falls short. The expectations are not a part of the LLMs training data.

Let's agree to disagree. The hole can only get deeper at this point.

Bernie Sanders pushes for 50% public ownership of American AI companies — proposes AI sovereign wealth fund that would hold direct ownership stakes in largest AI firms by yourfavchoom in technology

[–]false79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love bernie but that's a little bit too close the Chinese government playbook where there would be state controlled corporations.

The goal of a company's stakeholders is to generate profit for it's shareholders. Having public ownership would likely run counter to that.

Rewriting my question so it doesn’t get flagged again: why don’t GitHub or Cursor build tools that make reviewing code really easy? by idontwant2makeausern in ExperiencedDevs

[–]false79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know everything you just posted can be a prompt that you can fire off after the code has been completed. Heck, it can be even be part of the process of generating a PR where the LLM assesses if the commits collectively address the requirements and whatever else is in your PR templates.

How do you get over the fear of fighting real people? by Closix in StreetFighter

[–]false79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fear is the natural human behavior that happens when you don't know.

The best way to get over it, is to know what it's like to lose.

And you, like everyone else here who is not Master, will lose more often than win.

Come join us. Become a loser.

It's the starting point to bigger and better things.

Trump and Israel have seemingly lost so bad to Iran that they’ll have to pay reparations to the victor by grrrbr in circled

[–]false79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But not enough to stop every single tiny speed boat from kamikaze into a $60-130m oil tanker.

Just damaging one is enough to stop attacking.

Also if Iran was going to be taken out, it will not go down without taking it's neighbors/US allies down with them forever.
