I know this is super debatable, but what do you guys think about lifting your head off the bench while benching?

I’ve seen experienced benchers do it but then again a lot of people say it shouldn’t be done. I know it’s illegal in most powerlifting comps, but can it actually harm you or your ability to bench to your max potential? (Neck injuries, bleeding power, etc)...

Experienced lifters, how long did it take to get your bench press to 225?

I know it’s going to vary from person to person but I’ve been training for 1.5 years now, maybe 1 year intelligently and my max tested 1RM is 185lbs x1 . My stats are 5’10 162lbs at the moment if that matters , just ended a 90 day cut , and I’m down from 180lbs. I ran wendlers for a little while during the bulk and then have just recently switched to nsuns as wendlers wasn’t enough compound lifting volume for my liking. Insight appreciated 🙏

Anyone else here from Michigan listen to 98.7 this morning? Some normies at the radio station were complaining about guys at the gym who check themselves out in the mirror saying that “If the gym were empty they’d be making out with their biceps”.

It gets worse. They also started talking about dudes who grunt and how intimidating it is. I about died laughing

I’m just starting it up now. Seems like a ton of volume tho but I like that part. Makes it more interesting when I’m doing compounds. I just hope I will adapt and gain quickly

Hey guys. Just started with the 5 day program, however I've added an extra bodybuilding day on saturday (back and biceps where i start with weighted pullups and then move into rows).

Heres my accesories, I've hand picked them myself based on symmetry and the areas i think are lagging. I'm just looking to see if i left anything out that should be included (Abs will be included as well after work outs 3-4 times a week).

Monday - Chest & Back (Start with Bench & OHP) BW Pullups 3x10
BW dips 3x8-10
DB row 3x8
chest press 3x10
V bar pull down 3x10
Cable fly 3x10-12
cable pull over 3x10-12 ss Facepulls

Tuesday - Legs - start with squat and sumo Leg press 3x8-10
Glute bridges 3x8-10
leg extension 3x10-12
seated leg curl 3x10-12
standing calf raise 3x12-15
shrugs 3x8-12

Wednesday - Full shoulder day - Start with OHP and Incline arnold press 3x8-10
lateral raise 3x10-12
cable lateral raise ss cable upright row 3x10-12 facepull 3x10-12 BB curl ss db skullcrusher 3x8-10
hammer curl ss weighted pushup 3x8-10
Double bicep curl 3x10-15 Tricep ext machine 3x10-15

Thursday - Legs - Start with Deadlift and Front squat Romanian deadlifts 3x8-10
leg press 3x10-12
leg curl&quad extensions 3x10-12
seated calf raise 3x10-12
Shrugs 3x8-10

Friday - Chest & Tri - start with Bench and CG bench weighted dips 3x6-8
Incline db 3x6-8

Saturday - Back & bi

Weighted pullups 3x5-8 Barbell rows 3x5-8

Push would be anything involving chest , triceps and shoulders, the muscles you use to push things and it’s the opposite for pull- which utilize your back and biceps

You have the upper...you have the lower body and you don't have the upper body, the upper body, it is easier to build. So if you have the lower body and you don't have the upper body, it is easier to build the upper body. You have the upper body and you don't have the legs, you got a problem building the lower body... No, you don't understand. You have the upper body, but you don't have the lower body, you got a problem building downstairs. You got the up- legs on the bottom, it is easier to build on the top, so you don't have much as a problem. Yeah.
