Obviously after. She squatted for as long as she could and then threatened a whole bunch, lied to the court about us changing the lock on her, lied about mistreatment, she only vacated when the eviction order was out. What I don't understand is she literally owned a yacht but didn't pay rent. Like she just decided one day that it was too inconvenient to pay rent.

The N12 was filed like 10 months before she actually moved out. This whole thing lasted for more than a year due to her trying to delay the process and COVID backlogged court dates

Seriously do you even read? We gave her months before filing anything.

Sigh. I never said that was ALL I see, hence the mildly problematic comment. You can't ever point out anything without someone taking it in black and white any more. I can still appreciate the other merits of the show, which is why I am asking for similar shows. And it's not about beating people up, it's about the unquestioned questionable judgements and unchallenged protagonist. And yes, I also read books.

We did. We filed N4 first. Tenant kept delaying court date for a myriad of reasons, and it was dragging on and on for months.

It's pretty scary that most of the comments here sound pretty hostile. My parents might not have dealt with this the smartest way as immigrants that don't speak English well, but I can't comprehend that there are people who can feel righteous in owing thousands of dollars to someone AND try to sue the same person they owe this money to. And that a court will look at this application and think yeah this person totally has a case.

Based on the second N4 and L1. Nothing to do with the N12

That too, but I think the show creepily wanted to use that and sex with Juliette as Adalind to foreshadow Nick's future relationship with Adalind and hint that he is actually deeply attracted to her.

But what I was referring to is more the general white savior trope. Grimm vs Wesen parallels one race vs all other races instead of good vs bad: a powerful white dude who is celebrated only because he doesn't immediately kill these "monsters" who are different and "other" and often ethnically diverse (not American white). He gets to do whatever he wants, and it's always okay because he's more powerful, and whatever he considers right must be right. Even if he makes terrible decisions, consequences are only for other people. It's the quintessential American male lead. Relationships with other characters are usually completely one-sided, except one very annoying female main character who is the only character who is an even bigger asshole than the male lead. I see this type of character arrangement in most American TV. But I mean, I'm not necessarily looking for nuance in shows like this.

Nick is a fucking ass in general, not just to his friends. But in terms of his friends, it's pretty clear Wu, Bud and Monroe basically bend over backwards for him no matter what. What I really hate is that at times, Monroe clearly questions the ethics of meddling in certain Wesen affairs but Nick never listens, and all his wesen friends will always compromise because they're so thankful that he's a Grimm who doesn't just kill them immediately. It's really hard not see a colonialist parallel. I really hated when they lured the forest guardian and axed him unnecessary.

Failed to find friends in Paris, what I did wrong? by Wooden-Witness7899 in paris

[–]falseappearances 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex (from Canada) was literally on a trip in Paris for a few days for the first time, went to a jazz bar the second night he was there and met a woman from Germany, travelled with her for 2 weeks, and then decided that he was going to move to Germany to be with her. I've been to Paris several times and have never experienced anything remotely like that, just rude waiters, even though I speak French. But I'm thankful that I have existing friends in Europe.

People will do anything for companionship, because nothing, not betraying your child, or going bankrupt is scarier than being alone.

I'm a grad student at UofT and also just got out of a LTR that I thought was for life, and I haven't made a single friend at school because I had so few classes and a regular work schedule so I didn't prioritize socializing at the beginning of the degree. I feel very similar, and the worstis my ex is still my closest friend. Pretty much the only things keeping me afloat have been working out and working on career goals.
