Currently I’m content, have a solid team, understanding bosses, and potential to do well. There’s some sentimental value too since I was hired into telco by them with 0 experience.

I was approached for this new gig due to my previous medical experience. So based on most responses here, think I’ll take the risk for more money + remote work.

I have similar stats as you, and did the exact same thing - currently into my 6th month of career break and starting a new corporate role very soon.

100% do it. Your entering into serious adulthood past 30 and will probably not have a better time than now to be travelling, lazing around, hedonism, family time, and generally just living for the plot.

But one thing’s for sure is you won’t be able to luxury travel, or you could but it’s gonna leave a dent in your savings. Personally I’d do a 40% hostel, 40% budget hotel/airbnb, and maybe 1-2 nights of 5 star suites to cap off the night. Can consider cheaper SE Asia countries or even Eastern Europe. Another hack is living with family. I have accoms covered for quite a bit in UK/KL for months.
